Divine Symbols & Sigils

Tenets of Faith

  • Efforts of the individual often pale against that of community.
  • Tame the wilds in the name of civilization and order.
  • Uphold the spirit of invention and expand civilization.

Holidays

Izod does not have a commonly recognized holy day. There is some emphasis in small communities in the Acadia Range to abide by his teachings, but they do not celebrate Izod in the manner some of the other Champions are celebrated. There are no great feats, feasts, or games in Izod's honor, instead focus is placed on the continued gathering of knowledge about the history of Fragmentia.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

After the War for Creation, Izod became most heavily associated with the reemergence of great cities and civilizations, as well as the return of law and order amongst the mortals on the Material Plane. Many rulers of the past attributed their rise to his teachings and judges show him respect as the creator of a central structure in greater civilization. His most devout followers believe in law above all else and preach the need for balance and neutrality amongst all walks of life, but also for the expansion of civilization into the untamed wildlands.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

The Dragon Sage is often depicted as a wise, old gold dragonborn, adorned in beautiful robes that are woven with the legends of the dragonborn in the Acadia Range. Usually these robes are in purples and golds, and his brilliant white hair and beard are common features. In his claws he holds a balanced scale, weighed with bricks of gold. They are symbolic of his hope for balance and neutrality. Izod does not have a tail.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Izod was the first Champion chosen by Erathis. Chosen for his keen insight, sense of law in the world, and desire for peace on the Material Plane, Izod took his new responsibility seriously, though maintaining a balance of these things would prove a constant battle for him. In the War for Creation, Izod stood as a pillar of civilizaton and organized those who would not fight, but would seek any information or understanding that might help the Creators win. Though he was chosen by Erathis alongside Elayne, he did not agree with her methods and was surprised when both he and Elayne ascended to the Twelve Champions.   In the years following the War for Creation, Izod ended up at constant odds with Elayne who undermined his position and sought to break down many of the civilizations he had fostered. This struggle continued between them for a long time, but in the end, served as a great balance for the two forces, breaking down corruption and reestablishing order in its place.   Izod was drawn into the Divine Wars in some fashion, though like the others, his place in these wars has been lost. He remains the pillar of civilization, however, and is memorialized in Concorde as a patron of the city itself.
