Holidays

Day of Invention   Soleil 6   Largely a merchant's holiday, tinkers and inventors come from all around Fragmentia to the dwarven city Tranquille to show off their inventions and wares that they have acquired or crafted throughout the year. New and never-before-seen crafts are most revered on this day and are often put in impressive displays. However, the festival largely focuses on the betterment of society and the inventions that will continue to bring development to the world.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Grenmyr is worshiped by smiths, artisans, and miners whom he grants inspiration in exchange for their respect. He is most notably a protector of the home and of family and though he is mostly worshiped among dwarven populations, inventors and creators of all races look to him for guidance and hope that he will bless their craftsmanship. He favors those who wish to make the world a better place with their inventions.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

The Iron Hammer is typically depicted as a strong, burly dwarven man. His depictions reveal him shirtless and muscular, with long braided brown hair and a luscious brown beard. Most artwork depicts him with his iron hammer in his hands, though it shimmers with an ethereal light as if its not truly there at all--likely a representation of its loss.    Other depictions portray Grenmyr's harrowing fall from the cliffs of the Broken Crags into Lac Tranquille as he plunges toward the icy lake. These depictions are careful to show his stoic resilience despite the almost horrifying end he faced in the War for Creation.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Grenmyr tended a forge in a northern mountain range of ancient Fragmentia. His clan was constantly under attack by orcs living nearby, and on one fateful day, Grenmyr lost all of his people in a raid by the orcs. He barely survived and drew the attention of Moradin who came to him with the chance at avenging Grenmyr's lost clan. Grenmyr agreed to serve as Moradin's Champion and made it his mission to protect and defend the innocent.   Using his Iron Hammer in the War for Creation, Grenmyr helped drive back the forces of Gruumsh, including the orcs that killed his clan. However, on the day of the Creators' sacrifice, Grenmyr was pushed to a cliff above what has become Lake Tranquille. He was thrown from the cliffs and nearly killed in the lake, but the ascension saved him from falling to the poisoned waters of Lake Tranquille.    In the years that followed, Grenmyr brought the dwarven population together and helped them in achieving astounding feats of creation. He and his people were responsible for crafting a number of the Champions' holy weapons and some weapons for legendary heroes on the Material Plane. Grenmyr's inspiration still lives on in the dwarves today, even as he is trapped beyond the Mortal Gate.
