2025-12-04 Breakfast at Manven's
1492 DR 19 Nightal (The Drawing Down)
General Summary
Our interview with the time dragon Serangkar'aghathar left us with knowledge but no certain path. How, then, to use the story of the Prince of Frost to achieve our goals? After some conversation in Tír na nÓg, we decided it would do no harm to consult an expert on the Feywild, and resolved to return to Baldur's Gate after a decent rest and speak with Dallon.
We arrived at the teleportation circle in the Order of the Gauntlet chapterhouse first thing in the morning where, as luck would have it, Dallon was having breakfast with Ayla and Manven. We joined them for the morning repast then proceeded to discuss the state of affairs. As we considered possibilities, Dallon offered some perspective. The road by which we achieved our knowledge – confronting undead cloud giants, arch hags and time dragons – was the key to our success. Our tale rose to a level of epic that we earned a place in his story. To achieve our goals, we would need a new story of equal heroism.
It was Iain and his pragmatic drive to protect the innocent that suggested a path forward. The revelation that the Prince has kidnapped those he suspected of being Sharaea's reincarnation and froze them solid when his supposition was proven false inflamed Iain's sense of justice. He expressed a desire to determine whether these innocent victims had been killed or, as Milo named the condition, been petrified and kept imprisoned. If the latter, then we should attempt their rescue. The notion of storming the Prince's domain and liberating who knows how many of his victims would surely be epic enough to earn us the chance to further affect the tale of the Prince of Frost. The question now, how to achieve this feat? Perhaps shining the bright light of a holy dawn in the Vale of the Long Night would be a powerful component of such restorative magic. Thus we resolved to seek out Paelias at his room in the Blade and Stars.
