Karl Austenberg
Marquis Karl von Austenberg is the Commander of the King's Legion, the deposed King Alphonse Afsen's royal guard. He is the younger brother of Anders, the 9th Baron of Austenberg and uncle to Sigismund, Baron of Austenberg, the 10th Baron of Austenberg.
Early life
Being a younger son, Karl could not have hoped to succeed to the baronial title and the estates of the ancient House of Austenberg, spurring him to leave his native land and offer his service to the Sovereign of Guntreland, whose subject he remains, having been granted an irrevocable authorisation from Ferdinand II. He is considered a most ardent royalist, willing to sacrifice his life and the lives of his subordinates in his monarch's service.
