Vinter Kalistar IV The Exile

Vinter Kalistar IV was the former King of Iboria the eldest son and heir of King Vinter Kalistar III. From a young age, Vinter was rigorously trained in statesmanship and swordplay. Vinter III dies suddenly and suspiciously, but was deemed a death by illness. in spite of the lack of terms of succession, the lords council crowed Vinter the King. Who then immediately set about consolidating his authority. He ruled for about 10 years and unlike his father was bloody minded, violent and paranoid and because of suchd harsh to his people and lords. His brother Vegard who was in charge of his royal guard and Lord of Kalstar was beloved by his people and the lords. Was close to him but not as close as Vinter second in command Oberran the High Inquisitor. Vegard and Oberran often clashed. After watch a brutal execution of a family of believe to be working as Zesan agents according to Oberran. Even with proof that Vegard provide to his brother that they where not Zesan agents he still had them put to the sword. Vegard then conspired with the Lord Council and with their full support Vegard was able to lock down the City of Kalistar and take the palace. With the Royal guard and city watch and the lords council. Vinter and Oberran had no army to back them other then inquisition. Vinter never gave up and he and his brother clashed in the palace. Vinter was a skilled swordsman and gave Vegard a mortal wound. Vegard friend and high priest of Pelor Prelate Arius was able to heal him and keep him in the fight. Stunned tired and beating Vinter was capture and put in a cell.   However Operatives of Vinter Inquisition took hostage of Lady Winter. The lord who help Vegard win the Lord Council and offer her armies to support him as king. They wanted Vinter and the family sword "Kingslayer" to be released. Vegard consented, in hope of buying time to acted Instead of honoring his word, however Vinter retreated docks escaping with Lady Winter. As there boat sailed off Vinter killed and toss Lady Winter body in to the bay.   Vinter Kalistar IV has not been seen since.   The Lords Council later conduced a trial for Vinter IV in absentia, stripping him of his title for crimes and reaffirming Vegard as the rightful heir of Vinter III. Not all agree and hand full of officer and lord still loyal to Vinter IV seceded from Ibora and are later defeated by the lord Council forces in unifying Iboria under Vegard rule.
