Ilinvur
Ilinvur is a crossroads village under the protectorate of the city-state of Phlan. It used to be the size of a small town, but after numerous raids by the orcs of the Northern tribes and the barbarians of the Ride, as well as flind invasions from Anauroch, it now finds itself with a stable population of around 250 people. It is a mining village along the trade route between Avang and Phlan, passing by Castle Vathar, meaning it sees a lot of traffic.
Its market square houses a large fire pit with merchant stalls around them, surrounded by two-story bungalow houses of various design. In font of the crossroads stands the village's only tarvern, the Pick, a long drinking hall with a single residence attached to the back.
While there are no temples or shrines in Ilinvur proper, many households keep their own private sanctums, and the gods Bane, Gond, Tempus, and Selûne are among the most popular. The people of this quaint village value hard work and independence, and they are welcoming to travelers but wary of those who stay too long.

Industry & Trade
Ilinvur is situated on several veins of iron ore as well as coal, and the local industry thrives because of it. Several generations of miners have tunneled below the nearby Galena and Dragonspine Mountains, unearthing metals and fuels to power the forges of the Moonsea. The miners' guild has strong ties with the blacksmith's guild, as both professions are looked upon favorably by the populace. Equally prestigious are the farmers of Ilinvur, who keep plots of land downstream of the river Stojanow. The real daredevils among them live near the fields, but decades of raids by nearby barbarian tribes have made life on the fields quite dangerous. Coppersmiths and foundry workers round out the rest of the village's industry, with most processed materials being exported to the Moonsea area for further refinement.
Infrastructure
The village sits on the crossroads between the Ilinvur Trail, the Way of the Powrie, and Garumn's Climb with all three terminating at a signpost in front of The Pick, Ilinvur's drinking hall. The Ilinvur Trail orignates at Castle Vathar, whereas the Way of the Powrie heads Norh through the Tortured Lands, and Garumn's Climb goes East, to the village of Avang.
Following the Telstang Brook, which rises at the Falls of Ixte in the Western Galena Montains, will eventually lead to Lake Longcreek, which empties alongside Toranth's March and into the Glumpen Swamp. The walk along Toranth's March will eventually flow into the Phlan Path, with the journey between Ilinvur and Phlan taking to less than twelve days. However, crossing the Naed Creek to the Southeast and following the Glister Path will lead to te town of Glister, with roads leading to Melvaunt and Hulburg, two oter powerful city-states on the Moonsea.
Guilds and Factions
There are two influential guilds in Ilinvur, each with their own organization structure. First and foremost is the miners' guild, run for generations by the dwarven Snowshoulder family. Their current patriarch, Godric Snowshoulder, has expanded the mining operations from two to three locations in the Galena Mountains, as well as a new well in the Dragonspine Mountains.
The blacksmiths' guild, known amically as the firebellies, are led by Shamus 'four fingers' Stonehammer, a tinker gnome elder with little patience for new technology. The two guild leaders are often at odds with each other, though outside of their professional relationship, they're thick as thieves, as they've married each others' sisters and share a seat in the village council, currently held by Sapphire Stonehammer, Shamus' oldest granddaughter.
