The Wardens-- Thessalia, Gringnir, Morthos, Reginald, and Glyth-- head back to the Watching Tower to deliver the ring of wish to Centurion Draeven. Along the way, they encounter the Orange Mountain Children orc Tenguriin, who helps them fight a small, elite force of Aviletians testing some new weapons-- powered, magitek armor and spells that kill living beings and encase them in bloodcrystal, a new form of necromancy. The party then goes to the Watching Tower, where Thessalia uses the ring's magic to cure Ariadne Draeven, and they are paid 100,000 GP and a bag of holding. Additionally, Draeven promises his aid if ever they should need it.

The Wardens-- Thessalia, Gringnir, Morthos, Reginald, and Glyth-- head back to the Watching Tower to deliver the ring of wish to Centurion Draeven. Along the way, they encounter the Orange Mountain Children orc Tenguriin, who tells them that “their enemy is nearby” and that he will help them fight. Right on queue, they hear screams and explosions from nearby, as they come across a small, elite force of Aviletians testing some new weapons-- powered, magitek armor and spells that kill living beings and encase them in bloodcrystal, a new form of necromancy. The enemy spellcasters, one Sorcier Calvet and his apprentice, Conjurer Daucourt, prove powerful foes, using their high level magic to decimate the party. In addition, the armored troopers (using a variation of Count Darlington’s designs from the Arcadian Schism) prove powerful foes with their flamethrowers and miniguns. Thankfully, it is more important to the Aviletians to escape with their prototypes, so their goal is to teleport away rather than eliminate the party. Despite the danghers, a swift and daring attack by Gringnir results in him mortally wounding Daucourt as she teleports away. After narrowly avoiding defeat thanks to a well-placed cone of cold, the party take one of the Aviletian soldiers prisoner. They consider executing him, however, when they touch the bloodcrystal and feel the psychic echoes of the entombed victims dying moments. Despite being uncomfortable with the things he has seen, the party asks the prisoner-- Michel-- to first “spy” and then “defect,” exactly the wrong things to say to an Aviletian Chevalier. He offers instead to die with his honor intact, but they ultimately put him in the care of the one surviving Grey Ranger present at the battlefield. His fate is unkown. The party then goes to the Watching Tower, where Thessalia uses the ring's magic to cure Ariadne Draeven, and they are paid 100,000 GP and a bag of holding. Additionally, Draeven promises his aid if ever they should need it.
