The Greensmith's Guild request the Dawn Warden's aid preventing a group of guardsmen extorting additional taxes.

Smith Grover of the Greensmith's Guild requests help from Sage of the Dawn Wardens, explaining that they are being extorted by thugs dressed as guards. Additionally, he informs the party that go to help him-- Gringnir, Reginald, Glyth, Thessalia, and Morthos-- that one of the guild's apprentices, a dwarven lad named Jensen, has not returned from his paramour's home last night.
The group track down Amelia at the Half-full Chalice Inn, and Thessalia finds out that she last saw Jensen right before dawn when he left her chambers, and he spoke to some guards and was arrested. The party go to the Citadel dungeon to try to find Jensen or the guards who arrested him, but are instead locked in a waiting room by a nervous Corporal Shaw. They release themselves, speak to Jensen and a junior constable named Hani Palewater, and are eventually told to watch out for Captain Alexander Kingsley by the desk sergeant, William Artus.
Avoiding an encounter with Sage, who had come to speak to Captain de Silva upon finding out that Wardens had been arrested via sending, the group heads back to the Greensmith's Guild to ambush the extortionists. Five of them show up a few minutes later, along with an unwilling Constable Palewater. After a few words and some posturing, Glyth summons beasts from the shadows and a fight breaks out. During the fight, the Captain teleports away, and one of the Watch is killed by Thessalia's spell, an action she later regrets and pays to have him resurrected.
After the fight, the party ends up with Corporals Shaw and Per-vah imprisoned and all weapons within 60 ft. turned into food items. Reginald and Anastacia, the half-orc Greensmith accountant, notice that the new "tax bill" is issued under the authority of a "Baron" Marco Tessario-- the Baron's younger son, who is not the next Baron, as far as anyone knows. They reach a mutual understanding of "this is fucked up and you will need to help testify to clear this up at some point," and take them to Sage to explain everything.
