Halfling

Halfling is the primary language of Hobbits. It shares many similarities with Common, with some linguists arguing that it is more of a dialect than a true language.   Halfling has fallen out of use for a long time now, and is largely only maintained by a dedicated few, with many speakers taken to using Common instead for ease of communication. Rootmund, Osirin, is the only place in the world where Halfling can be heard spoken almost exclusively, with the language often left untaught in some of the bigger cities, outside of a few words and phrases.   Some dedicated speakers and scholars worry that the language will soon die out if nothing is done.
