Common Myths and Legends
Sister, please tell me from which God or Goddess do we get our powers from. I know our ancestors have being Touched, but our magic is different from those who are Touched by the Old Gods. We are bound by rituals, and they aren't.
Show spoiler
We were Touched by one of the Old Gods, her name is Niheia. She gifted our ancestors their powers and bound their magic to the rituals and traditions, so that our powers would go unnoticed.
Reaction
But why do we need to hide our powers, they are beautiful. We are blessed by a divine power and that needs to be celebrated.
Reaction
Because those that are in power are supporting the New Religion. They have burned the Touched alive, only because they were the embodiment of power from the Old Gods. That is why our Goddess changed the way we can use our gift. So that those in power do not suspect that we have magic abilities.
But if the Old Gods were so powerful, how could they let this happen? Why didn't they protect the ones that they have Touched?
Reaction
That is a good question, and I do believe that they have tried. But their powers are also limited, they gave us the ability to think for ourselves. To act as we see fit, and some of us abused this power. They abused this by creating a New God, and then forced his teachings on to us in such a way that we can't avoid it. And if we do, or try, we are killed off. So that is why we have to stick to our rituals, so that we stay safe, and so that we can serve our Goddess.
How did you become so wise, and all knowing? Even Mamma, wouldn't answer my questions?
Reaction
This is because or Goddess doesn't like to be spoken off. She asked us not to, to safeguard ourselves. Because speaking her name out loud can lead towards detection. I am telling you this because you need to know it. It is part of your culture, your future. And if you keep asking those questions, you might be in danger.
Thank you, sister. For the replies and, for looking out for me.
Reaction
Any time, sis. Now I need you to stop asking questions. And do as you are told.
I am so sorry, Mistress of the Night. But I needed to look out for my sister. It became too dangerous to ignore her.
Reaction
I understand, but do not do this again.

Historical figures
Mama Odie
It has being whispered that Mama Odie was the daughter of the Goddess Niheia. Only the old blind lady never said that this was so or not. She rather keeps to herself inside the bayou, away from people, especially away from those who are in power. For those who know her, or go to see her. They look to her for wisdom and unsalted advice. She is a woman of truth, and doesn't care how much gold you bring to her. She loathes those who think that they can control her, by forcing her to believe in the New God.
Mama Odie is still alive to this day.
Voodoo Queen
The Voodoo Queen, also known as Asceline Chabert was one of the first to be blessed with Niheia's touch. It is thanks to her teachings and guidance that the Voodoo Masters are still roaming the Kingdom. She made sure that every Touched after her knew what was at stake, their survival. Asceline was the one who created most of the rituals, that are used to this day.
