"There are maps drawn in madness, etched by dying hands or whispered to cartographers in fever. Some lead nowhere. Others lead somewhere worse."
Everwealth is littered with places that do not belong, monoliths untouched by time, towers that hum with runes no scholar can read, and hollow places where even the echoes refuse to linger. These are the strange places, sites unanchored from known history and untouched by the steady rot of civilization. Travelers speak of endless halls beneath mountain lakes, sealed vaults of shifting stone that whisper your name if you stand still too long, and statues of gold dragons that appeared overnight in burnt-clearings where no mine or forge ever stood. The brave call them forgotten wonders. The wise call them warnings. What ties these curiosities together is not who built them, no one knows that anymore, but the sense that they should not still be here. Towers guarded by tireless golems, their limbs still dented from battles long erased; staircases that spiral down farther than the earth allows; ghost-cities that flicker in and out of the waking world. Some believe they were left by Pre-Schism god-machines or ancient peoples so alien their motives remain unknowable. Others think they’re alive. But all agree on one thing: every strange place has teeth, whether buried in the walls, or waiting in the dark beneath your feet.
