Lilai
The Lilai are a group of Halflings native to Yanu-Yanu in The Singing Islands. Physically they resemble Yaunuk humans, save for their oversized Halfling feet, fin-like ears, and the fish-like scales covering their legs and feet. Due to the natural volcanic activity of their island home, they dress in simple, limited clothing and much of their culture revolves around the unnaturally warms seas around them, including the practice of riding waves on wooden boards (commonly called surfing). The Lilai worship their island as an incarnation of the fifteen gods, a unified being they call Makimele, who they try to appease with sacrifices they throw into the island's volcano, the Eye of Fortissimus. While most Lilai still live on Yanu-Yanu, some are in scattered enclaves throughout the northern islands as a result of being annexed into Ter Eira.
