Felthrún
A Drow city located roughly a mile beneath The Kingdom of Guardia. The city has few relations with the surface dwellers, as the drow view themselves as being above them. Felthrún is currently at war with the nation of Duergar that also live in the Dark Lands.
Government
Felthrún is a matriarchal society, with rule passed down through the females of the royal line. When a royal dies with no female offspring, an election process is held to vote in the new empress. Due to drow lifespans and their prediliction towards reproduction in the sake of producing as many daughters as possible, this happens extremely rarely.
History
When the Drow split with the surface elves 4000 years ago, they were originally a sect of Izidra worshippers who were driven out of surface society for their violent and heretical beliefs. After travelling for 100 years, they eventually went underground and got lost. Just as the group was about to give up, they stumbled across a huge cavern with an underground lake and teeming fungal life. Weirder still, there were already ruins of another civilization here into which the elves moved. These existing ruins were way too big for the elves, but they adapted them to fit their lifestyle. In present day, there is little trace left of the ruins that originally inhabited the city.
