"Arcane Truths: A Study in the Unseen" is a rare and forbidden text penned by the late Maelis Varr, a Vydenzan mage whose sudden obsession with an unknown power led to his downfall. Published in secret, with only around 100 copies printed, Varr’s work never reached the public eye as intended. Soon after its release, the Vydenzan authorities attempted to destroy every last copy, branding it a dangerous and heretical study. However, a few copies have survived, scattered across Eudos. The book begins as a promising exploration of forgotten arcane principles, but as Varr delves deeper, his writings grow erratic. He speaks of forces beyond the known magics, hinting at a hidden power no one else can sense. The text, however, is incomplete and disjointed, with several passages appearing to have been erased or deliberately obscured. What remains are the cryptic notes of a man whose mind was unraveling. The mystery of why the Vydenzan government tried to erase his work, and what they feared he discovered, has yet to be fully understood.
