   The Vee merfolk live in the seas around the southern Jasperic Isles, caretaking vast fields of sea flora and docile herds of pygmy manatees.   They work to maintain a good relationship with the land dwelling islanders in their territory, with most children learning at least three languages alongside their native Veen. Trading is important to the communities in the archipelago, and the Vee are no exception. Often children accompany adult traders in order to practice their language skills.
