The Sui

  The Sui are a group of humans that inhabit part of the Jasperic Isles, a large archipelago to the west of the continent of Aenica. They live on a cluster of three islands towards the southern end of the archipelago. They maintain a close relationship with the local merfolk.   The Sui as a people have evolved over milennia to be able to hold their breath longer than most other humans, and begin training their children to do so from a young age. They are freedivers, and almost half of their sustenance comes from the sea floor, including shellfish and crustaceans. They also collect shells and pearls for trade.
