The Crish

  The Crish merfolk are the most widespread and scattered denizens of the Sinien Ocean, sticking mainly to the shallower areas in recent centuries. They are a nomadic folk, moving around about every year or so. They like building their shelters out of a myriad of materials, and particularly prized are things like wood or textiles that do not survive for too long underwater.   A few centuries ago, they had a cultural hub in the city of Erevenor, which had been empty and abandoned for around a decade before they moved in. They eventually gave the city over to the the Xaishe, who returned the city to the sparkling jewel it once was. Twenty percent of the city's population are still Crish who have elected to remain settled.
