The Athanians

  The Athanians are the human inhabitants of Athana, a long narrow country in northern Caia. Athana is a harsh, windswept country, but the Athanians have learnt to adapt to their environment, and even to use it to their advantage. They are a self-sufficient people, relying on fishing and farming to survive. They rarely trade with outsiders, though this may be beginning to change.   Historically a disparate people, the Athanians became united around five years ago by the figure known as the Warrior Queen, Brynhalle. Her aims are to begin to form better relationships with those outside their country, with the hopes of bolstering trade and commerce. Even though they are now unified, their society is still heavily clan based, with clan leader in charge of making important decisions for their clan.
