Daren

  Daren is an island in the northern half of the continent of Caia. It is completely isolated from the outside world by a huge wall that was built along the coastline, all several hundred miles of it. The wall existed when the Darenites woke up after the Renewal, and no one knows why it was built.   Daren has a relatively mild climate, though in the winter the temperature can plummet below freezing. It entirely consists of grasslands, with several small patches of forest that the Darenites have to be careful to conserve and replant.   The country is ruled by an elected leader, who is chosen every five years.
