Qualic cooking's a pretty new definition. It was always rumored, and assumed to exist. Certain cooks who could just capture an extra 'something' in their dishes.
You know when people say food can bring you to tears? Or make you imagine the warmth of your childhood? Well Qualic Cooking is the science behind just that any many more.
Qualic Cooking is term given to culinary creations which are made with an infusion of meta. These infusions can vary depending on the school of Meta used. Sometimes its as toasting the top of a dessert with a finger-produced flambe, other times it can be as complicated as complex Auric enchantment using sugar crystals. These types of Qualic cooking can be done by anyone with enough experience in wielding the meta.
There is also another class of Qualic Cooking, reserved for Monolithic chefs who impart their otherworldly knowledge into their food. There are multiple accounts of meals literally healing the sick and bringing the most stalwart warriors to tears.
Monolithic Qualic Cooking can create meals that empower the soul and heal maladies both mental and physical.
Culinary History
When the power of the Meta came to be in the Vadakendanic Procession, ideas of how to use it in cooking followed shortly behind.
The first recorded instance of its use were during the Crescendo Era where the Verin would host great feasts, using smoking pits that maintain their heat through the energy meta of the cook.
The general idea was that any meta used to cook a meal reflected the 'soul' of the chef, and it wasn't until recent Banner history that the idea was proven. Cooking with Meta can leave Echos that can impart emotions felt by the chef at the time.
The Monolithic Touch
Monolithic chefs have to be careful, put too much of yourself in too many meals and you'll turn into a statue!
There are multiple individuals who have acheived their Monolith status through their trials in the kitchen. These individuals will often get an ability to plays into their food itself. Some use it to ensure the perfect meal every time, others use their meals to heal the sick or treat diseases. Many of these Monoliths hold a high-cost
Everytime a Monolith places their power in a dish, it eats up a portion of their body, converting their flesh to Schaeus. This also explains the premium prices that Qualic meals from a Monolith cost.
Note: The term Qualic refers to Qualia, which are defined as the individual moments of subjective, conscious experience. Cooking with Meta involves the use of ones soul.

Qualic meals in Yak'koli's Mariner's District
The meals below are from the constantly rotating menu of one of Yak'koli's most storied and long-running establishments. Staffed entirely by two multi-generation families and headed by monolithic chefs, the establishment doesn't take reservations. They only serve those who have earned a meal.
They produce in large quantities, and impart some of their monolithic affectations in each bowl.
Local Rutas sourced from the Amberge are marinated and baked once. Their meat is extracted from the shell to be mixed into a salad and reinserted into the shell. It is then baked again.
The dripped from the baking are collected into a pot below, and reused to sautee local vegetables and a local fan corralum growth which is trimmed from the eateries community greenhouse.
Notes: Earthy, savory, and rich. The citric taste of the vegetables pairs great for a warm day in the District. Those who ate this meal felt alert and of high energy for the next two days.
These Rutas are farmed in house, a large tunnel serves as a tidal pool perfect for hosting a healthy Rutas population. Spare roe and the Rutas itself are harvested, baked, and served over a savory creamy variant of Crackle Cake. A pickled Ramscorpion egg is served in the middle.
The broth is made from vegetables and Rutas shells cooked over 48 hours. It is complimented with sauteed mushrooms.
Notes: Salty, deep, and with an umami that tickles your tongue. The broth is spicy and warm, and the pickled egg adds a punch that pairs with the roe. This special meal was served on the Yak'koli day of love.
