Basic Information

Anatomy

Elves are tall, slender, and nimble creatures. They are pristine, beautiful creatures that carry themselves with grace and pride. They have large, pointed ears- far bigger than other Etherians.

Genetics and Reproduction

Elves reach maturity at age 100, and are sexually mature by then too. Elven women have one week in a month when they are fertile, and they do have menstral periods but they are light, and they only bleed once-the day they are most fertile.

Growth Rate & Stages

Five years of growth for an Elf is about the equivalent of one year of (OUR) human development.

Ecology and Habitats

Elves prefer to live in small, earthen cottages, leaving most of their land to gardens and pastures for animals. They live in villages that tend to be spread out, and have one distinct marketplace for trading & selling goods, as well as festivals and other events.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Elves usually have vegetarian diets, very rarely have meat (usually eaten on special occasions and holidays)

Social Structure

Elves are problem solvers. They are quick to find solutions instead of resorting to violence, and don't allow petty comments to bother them too much. Since they live so long, they always see the bigger picture.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

A majority of books are hand-bound by Elves. It's a practice passed down for generations, and are a perfect hobby for Elves with their nimble, slender fingers.

Sharper facial features, eyes slightly uptuned and tend to be larger than others.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Mostly confined to Concordia, but thrive wherever there are forests. They love adventuring and travel, and are the most common race to find on other realms aside from the native race.

Average Intelligence

Extremely intelligent and have a knack for learning and reading. All the best Etherian libraries had Elves working in them, and most Etherian schols have Elves as teachers due to their long lifespans and quick learning ability.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Elves have exceptional hearing and a form of night vision. Elves also don't NEED to sleep, they can simply meditate for around four hours. Some elves do choose to sleep.
Elves are native to Concordia, the realm of Crow. They are all gifted by them, and are naturally excellent with animals and, well, nature.

Naming Traditions

Elves are given 'child names', then when they reach adulthood they either choose new names or keep their child names.

Beauty Ideals

Elves have no exact beauty standard. Elves are so varied there is never one exact standard.

Gender Ideals

Female Elves tend to do more 'dainty work'; embroidery, sewing, clothing, lace & silk, knitting, crochet, painting, animal care, etc. Some enjoy gardening.
Male Elves do more 'labor'; gardening, building

Courtship Ideals

Ceremonies are held for each Elven familys with eligible, of age, sons and daughters. The day is spent choosing who they want. Elves adore relationships, and a lot of their culture revolves around it. They wholeheartedly believe that a pair can have a love so strong it lasts for all lifetimes.

Relationship Ideals

Relationships are pure and full of love. Elves mate for life.

Average Technological Level

No technology. Candles are used for light at night, and horse drawn carriages are transportation.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

All Elves speak Elvish and the Common tongue, but a majority of Elves speak multiple or all Etherian languages.

Common Etiquette Rules

Elves are polite, thankful creatures with exceptional manners.

Common Dress Code

Neutral tones are preferred, but they wear whatever they make. Dyes are rarely used, only in higher ups and royal families. Greens, browns, and beiges preferred.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

The yearly harvest is honored each year. The turning of the seasons is also celebrated, it's a week long festival adored by all Elves.

History

The second race to ever come to Etheria in 435 R.O.C, Elves were quick to adapt to their new homes. Concordia was quick to thrive with them.
