Elemental
Basic Information
Anatomy
Elementals are creatures born from fire, water, terra, or air. They are embodiments of their parent elements;
Fire: Red/orange/yellow/pink hair, skin, and eyes. Hair that, when majick is being used, glows like hot coals.
Water: Pale blue/purple/sometimes white skin, hair, and eyes. Hair that, when majick is being used, slowly dampens.
Terra: Pale/tan/dark skin, blonde/brown hair (sometimes black), brown/black eyes. Hair sometimes gets dusty when using majick.
Air: Light grey/blue skin, white/grey/blue hair, white/grey eyes or very pale blue eyes. Hair that floats when using majick
All Elementals have pointed ears and the marks of Etheria that glow the color of their magic while using.

Genetics and Reproduction
Ancient Elementals tried to reproduce with the same type (ex: fireborne with fireborne) but some mixed Elementals were born. They were often looked down on and seen as 'impure' to elder Elementals. The resulting magic is often additive and is dependant on the mother's magic (ex: fireborne mother + waterborne father = smoke, while waterborne mother + fireborne father = steam)
Elementals reach maturity at age sixteen, and sexually mature by then too. They are only fertile in specific seasons;
Fireborne: Red death
Waterborne: Flourish
Terraborne: Growing/Harvest
Airborne: Turnover
No Elementals are able to reproduce in cold seasons (Cooldown through The Melting)
Female Elementals are fertile for the entire month/two months of their season.

Growth Rate & Stages
Fireborne: 150 years
Waterborne: 100 years
Terraborne: 115 years
Airborne: 90 years
One year of growth for an Elemental is about one year of (OUR) human development.

Ecology and Habitats
Elementals live in stone cottages often walled off into distinct villages rather than dispersed cottages of villages that interfere with one another like Sylvans. They prefer mountains with rivers beneath, since it usually unites all four elements, especially if the mountain they live near is a volcano. Very few Elemental villages exist outside of a mountain.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Fireborne: Mainly four-legged animal meat diets
Waterborne: Mainly freshwater fish diets
Terraborne: Vegetarian/Seed diets, some eat rocks to help w/ digestion
Airborne: Polutry/flying bird diet
Usually bury their food in the ground duirng cold seasons and burn their food as offerings to the Gods.

Behaviour
Fireborne: Stereotypically 'hot-headed' and known to be mean.
Waterborne: Kindest of the Elementals.
Terraborne: Very blunt and bold.
Airborne: Most neutral of the Elementals. Blunt and very self-absorbed

Additional Information
Social Structure
There is a higherarchy in Elemental culture. Those with certain jobs are more respected (usually blacksmiths, jewelers, high-up builders, families with many women).
Women are forced to wed the day they turn 16, and carry children until they no longer can. Ceremonies are held for higher up families, so the mother can choose her daughter's suitor, but lower families don't get to choose.
Men take the women's last name.

Uses, Products & Exploitation
Lots of architecture and religious practices used in modern day were derived from Elementals, since they were extremely strict with their practices.
Facial characteristics
Varies, but Fire/Terraborne tend to have stronger and sharper features compared to Water/Airborne, which has softer, rounder features.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Exist mainly on Etheria, but spread to mainly Concordia, but also parts of Aevum and Nebruleum. Nonexistent on other realms.
Average Intelligence
Elementals pride themselves on knowledge involving their specific magic, and are often very stuck up in regards to it. They are not afraid to correct people and often think they are better than other races due to their God being Drakarius, king of Etheria.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Fireborne Elementals have exceptional eyesight and can't get cold (run very hot). Are usually the most physically beautiful of the Elementals. Due to their magic, they make excellent blacksmiths.
Waterborne Elementals can breathe in freshwater and naturally run cold. Often very good healers (potions/tonics, not majick).
Terraborne Elementals cannot suffocate in natural substances and are excellent craftmans, commonly builders. Normally bigger/taller than other Elementals.
Airborne Elementals cannot suffocate from lack of air and never get respiratory-related illnesses. They are normally animal carers and are smaller than most Elementals.
Elementals are native to Illustris, the Realm of Drakarius. They are all gifted each with one specific element; fire, water, terra, or air, and have majick based on such element. Mixed Elementals either have both/more or one of their parents powers, depending on the parents (whether or not they gave good offerings during the mothers pregnancy)

Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
Some Elemental parents name their children based on their elements, but some choose new names to pass down to future generations.
Beauty Ideals
Elementals see strong and intense features as beautiful, and passive attitudes are seen as attractive as well (by men about the women). 'Mean' or 'rude' expressions are seen as ugly.
Gender Ideals
Female Elementals are expected to be the equivalent of housewives and to bear children until they can no longer concieve. After they can no longer concieve, they serve as the head of the household and often make clothes, write books, or tend after children.
Courtship Ideals
Suitors are chosen for daughters by their mothers. Men are given up for 'auction' essentially and are picked. Taking a woman's name for himself and his children is extremely honorable, and men often spend their childhood years learning to be desirable to future possible wives.
Relationship Ideals
If true, real love is present, the couple are considered lucky. Most see each other as simple partners or friends.
Average Technological Level
Created the first printing presses and blacksmithing tools, but no other technology.
Major Language Groups and Dialects
All Elementals speak Primordial and a common Trade tongue, but each of the four types of Elemental have their own language as well;
Fireborn: Ignan
Waterborn: Aquan
Terraborn: Terran
Airborn: Auran
Fireborn: Ignan
Waterborn: Aquan
Terraborn: Terran
Airborn: Auran
Common Etiquette Rules
Elementals are generally very judgemental and stuck-up, and believe they are always right. Waterborn tend to be the exception.
Common Dress Code
Dress to compliment their skin/hair tones, with bright colors and flashy attire.
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
They celebrate The Burning, their equivalent of a 'Christmas' that happens in the middle of White Zero, in which they burn a large tree and throw food in as an offering to the Gods. They prepare all year for it to ensure they have enough food for the cold season.
Common Taboos
Women not marrying at 16 is looked down on, as is mixed-element children.
History
The first race to ever come to Etheria in 25 R.O.C. Elementals were born from their respective elements then quickly got to work, determined to populate their new realm the quickest.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Elementals keep to themselves, and don't seek out relations with other Etherian races, only when absolutely necessary.
