Northman
-Sought the Darkness to gain understanding of the nature and origin of the neutral zone. Why is it central? Why isn't the world finished? What lies past the guarded and distant barriers between Etheriah and its creation? Where do men and animals fit into the inherently more brutal and savage nature of science and supernatural realms which cause them to go to war over resources that oftentimes are not limited? He knows the original settlers don't consider these things.
-Versed on all the old legends of the rejection that ultimately came from hundreds of years of seeking, placating, worshipping and sacrificing to an ultimately uncaring god who saw the only race and culture wanting to understand so as to flourish as a burden on its borders. The eventual realization of utter rejection after so much sorrow and sacrifice turned the original mountain tribes who took that path to the deepest depths of nihilism and a total rejection of the concepts of simple brotherly love and selflessness
-Northman was the first to seek the Darkness in the north, alone and maniacally driven by his fear of what he would find, but helpless to turn his back on the compulsive mystery
-When the first tribes that would become the Northmen and the Northern Kin? arrived, he was there, and they revered him as a Forefather not knowing that he had already been rejected, and his mind and soul were slipping into that place where fractured worlds teeter
