Giant Bees

Location

Live in a hive in the giant trees in the forest of Thaele. Hive is usually surrounded by smaller hives. The bees are private and their hives are in very remote places. Sightings are very rare.

Resources

Their honey is the tastiest and is considered a delicacy in Ethra. They are hunted for their fur which is incredibly soft except also incredibly rare due to the difficulty in hunting, capturing, and killing the bees. Harvest pollen from a flower which makes their honey numbing. Cannot eat lots as your mouth will go numb. Used by medics. The queen is massive and her fur is highly valued for being the softest. It isn't. The others are highly protective of her and may even use their stingers to protect her. She resides in the centre of the hive.

Protection

Symbiotic relationship with the bee dragons who sleep on the bees and feed off their honey and protect the hive. Witches have been known to harvest honey and have a symbiotic relationship with the bees, offering them extra protection. While they do have a stinger, they will only attack if they see no other option. Very peaceful and intelligent (for a bee). Bee dragons are the protectors.

Messengers of God

Giant bees are considered by smaller bees as basically gods and will do their bidding and follow them around. They are often sent as messengers or omens. It is theorised that these giant bees are messengers of the gods and seeing them is a sign. Not proven or disproven.
