All the mages in Estara can only control one type of magic, and any other species such as witches and wizards also have similar limitations. When a mage uses their power, they become drained and overuse can cause exhaustion. Magic use can also cause side effects depending on the magic used. All mages will attend a school where they will learn to master their abilities, they then have the opportunity to pursue higher education in university. Witches get taught by their Mothers as Daughters and learn all their craft from them. After moving out, they will then be able to create new spells and potions and expand their knowledge to then teach to their own apprentice. A wizard (being solitary) is self taught, although they will usually seek out old wizard towers to consume all the available manuscripts and spell books, before leaving to continue their education.
