Shipwrecked on a Northern Isle Beach
SESSION NOTES
Water laps over your nose, waking you as you splutter water. The saltiness lingers on your lips and nostrils. Your hair hangs over your eyes, so you cannot see. You cough and splutter some more.
The wet sand holds your form, as you heave yourself up onto your hands and knees. Only when the next wave seeps into the mold, does it begin to fade. So it is like you were never lying there.
Something heavy presses on you back, you shake yourself and your pack falls next to you - wet and sandy. Everything you wear is drowned in water and sand. You wipe the hair out of your eyes, and your hair/paw is covered in slimy seaweed.
The storm has disbanded and now there is only a light drizzle.
Feeling around you, the waves constantly fill in the holes you make as you dig around for your weapon:-
ROLL for Investigation
1 = trapped tightly in between two rocks
2 to 5 = water damaged

10 to 15 = cuts you a little as you find the blade first
16 to 19 = a little battered but okay
over 20 = okay
natural 20 = in perfect state (actually cleaner and a little sharper than before)
You heave yourself to your feet, still spluttering salt saliva:-

2 to 5 = stagger into a rock - lean against [take 1d6 bludgeoning damage]
6 to 9 = Stand but wobble sideways - take time to steady self scratches and cuts sting a lot - 1d4 bludgeoning damage
10 to 15 = scratches and cuts sting a lot - 1d4 bludgeoning damage
16 to 19 = a little scratched that sting but okay - no damage
over 20 = stand a little unsteady but remain still - a shallow scratch stings
natural 20 = stand up tall and no scratches or cut
On your feet (finally), you move towards the debris of the vessel you remember you had been sailing in. There are a few others nearby, all of you look bedraggled and confused. The lightning storm had come up so fast. Crabs scuttle away leaving trails in the sand. Sharks frenzy not very far out from shore. A few birds circle looking for straps.
Searching around for survivors:-
ROLL Investigation
1 = against rocks a body that when turned over is badly battered and squashed in skull
2 to 5 = a dying person who is badly injured and lost one leg
6 to 9 = a drowned sailor with a sword in their back
10 to 15 = save a turtle trapped in the ropes
16 to 19 = pull a Gnome, [Trixie Fizzleplum - she/her from the waves - their skirts floating around their body
over 20 = Captain (White Foamwater) - Tabaxi - them/they - unsteady but uninjured
natural 20 = find 1d12 silver
A bald crew member Sid Denton (he/him) walks over from a body slung over the broken crow's nest, "Nope. Another one gone to the deep, Captain." A torso washes up against his legs, it is unrecognizable. The crew member turns towards the sea, as they vomit.
A lass Aqua wearing a black buttoned down front dress, who looks to be all of 13 years old, sits on a rock near a pile of broken crates, she is drawing the scene in such a calm manner. on the edge of the page is a tally of the dead. Her large eyes watch everyone. Her skin is glistening a bluey jade of a water Genasi - yet it is darker than usual with flecks of black and gold. Short cropped black and jade hair.
The second mate, a Dwarf named Noella Lainworth -she/her - has a deep gash to her face (forehead, nose and cheek), walks up from further along the beach "I found no one else alive, as I walked, Captain." (their voice is horse and coughing up blood).
The wreck is hazardous with broken planks, sticking out nails, broken crates and other containers. The sand and waves revels ruined foods and 1d12 apples.
The bald crew member starts searching the debris - finding 1d4 cabbages; the Captain's hat; a cloak [+1 cloak of protection = protects wearer against attacks the physical and magical] ; a large cooking pot; a shovel; a bucket; and 1d8 brass goblets.
Thwack! There is the noise of two pieces of wood being slapped together - the Captain is whacking the sand off the drier crate pieces. Captain makes a fire with what he can find, lights a fire, (without a flint box) "To warm and dry as all. Then we can move along."
As you sit down, you look to see who your companions are - the Tabaxi Captain, the Dwarf first mate, a bald crew member, a Gnome lady, a young Genasi - PLUS one of noble High Elves who is a Ranger, a Fey Fairy Boy Cleric, a Harengon Warlock, and another Tabaxi (likely a Monk by their attire).
There are 3 sets of footprints heading to Onata (15 minutes ahead) 20 minutes - Human; Dragonborn; Tiefling.
