Gir Harbour


Gir Harbour at the sea end of Gir River, located in Oshad. Close to Patch and Wold. Near the Deep Mountains.

Gir Harbour is the oldest harbour in the continent of Malnax, built by the Dwarves. Gir Harbour offers an unique and interesting stores for the ships and boats navigating the Tucking Bay, as well as providing berths for those people who want leisure sailing on Thur Coast.

There is a local restaurant, a few stores, Market Stalls, a Drinking Tavern, souvenirs & gifts, Hunting & Fishing supplies, and Docks. All in walking distance to The Gir Aquarium.
Swans breed in the sheltered inlet of the opening of Gir River.



The Viking Swan

Drinking Tavern
Once named The River Swan. Situated on the river edge of Gir Harbour. It is believed that the tavern was built by Vikings. Although the structure would originally was made of wood - not of the replaced stone.
OWNERS = Hendrick and Agzar Gautisson - Human brothers - Viking in appearance - plays on the history of Vikings within the tavern.



The Swan Belle

During the summer months, people can also hop aboard The Swan Belle for a different perspective of Gir River and the Thur Coast. The guided boat tours will take people along the Gir River or Thur Coast, offering entertaining commentary about the Oshad region’s history.


The Harbour Museum

Located in the heart of the Harbour, is the museum, which offers an unique insight into the history and archaeology of Gir Harbour. Alongside an impressive art collection and a wealth of Vikings treasures from around Oshad region. The Harbour Museum offers numerous artefacts from the various eras.

Oshad Swan Trust
The beautiful river swans caught in and around Oshad region and along the Thur Coast. The trust was set up to monitor their ecology, behaviour, health and welfare. The river swans are tagged by a magic metal ring, to track them.
Approximately 350 river swans have been located and ringed. The swans face several threats, such as lead poisoning, collision with water vessels, and avian influenza. The unfortunate reporting of dead birds is also very important.
Their are signs up along the Thur Coast "Please avoid directly touching any dead, sick or injured swan!"
