Demenian Imperial Airships
The Empire of Demenia is the only country to have this new technology, bred from mechanical and magical means. Their development would have been impossible to keep secret so Publicly it was stated that the airships were being developed to give Demenian merchants a way to reach ports beyond Karshé, without having to sail through Lower Lete waters, privately the Emperor had always had their military uses in mind. Indeed, the very first airship created was a converted war galley called the Dancing Ferocious. Demenians are nothing if not industrious and in the three years since the launch of the Dancing Ferocious a dozen other ships have been commissioned and launched.
- Katelyn Class Airships are the lightest airships in the burgeoning armada. They're small, nimble, and fast making them excellent for quickly moving supplies and a full century of Legionnaires around active battlefields, which is their primary function. Katelyn class airships have six ankrium-engines, the front two can be used as weapons.
Blue Wind, Argent Wind, Sun Reach, Sky Lance, Falling Sword, and Tharian's Glory make up the Katelyn Class airships deployed by the Empire. Tharian's Glory serves as the personal airship of Empress Katelyn Kerendas.
- Dragon Class Airships are heavier than the Katelyn Class and significantly slower, but while the latter can only carry a single century Dragon Class Airships can carry up to three along with their supplies. Dragon Class airships each have six ankrium-engines with four, separate, weaponized versions for bombardments.
Sky Breaker, Vulcan's Hammer, Gryphon, Siege Eater are the only four Dragon Class airships in the armada.
- Emperor Class Airships are truly massive airships capable of carrying half a cohort over long distances. They are heavily armed and ponderous, but a single Emperor class airship can completely change the tide of even the largest battles. Thankfully for all of Demenia's enemies, there are only two.
Glory, and her sister ship, Honor are the only two emperor class airships. Honor is the Emperor's personal airship and is slightly larger and more heavily armed than her sister. Glory has eight ankrium engines and a weaponized bank of eight. Honor has ten engines and ten weaponized banks.
Regardless of size, all airships are perfectly capable of flotation, and all the Katelyn Class airships except Tharian's Glory can be outfitted with masts.
Power Generation
A blend of mechanical and magical components with a heavily enchanted gemstone called an Ankrium Knight at its core.
Propulsion
Channeled via magical and mechanical means airships are directed through the air by a series of magically constructed rings that contain and direct fields of raw magical energy.
Weapons & Armament
All airships can use their engines as weapons, firing large orbs of magical energy much in the same way a catapult lobs large rocks. Dragon Class and Emperor Class have dedicated components for this purpose, and they are deployed to break sieges, and swiftly end battles, however they are most powerfully used as a means of intimidating would be enemies.
Hangars & docked vessels
Airships, as the name implies, can also float, so they can land on any body of water large enough to accommodate their size. Outside of those specially made drydocks have to be constructed before the airship can fully land. Note: they do not need to fully land to disembark cargo or Legionnaires. All airships have their cargo doors on the underside of the hull and only need to hover low enough to the ground for ramps to be positioned.
