O&F5 Session 9: Escape from Cappebraccia

11 Oakenfall, 103 III-Inter, the Tipsy Trader, Cappebraccia   It is breakfast time at the Tipsy Trader and the party is just coming to terms with the newly-rejoined Bubbles's discovery about the prayerbooks when suddenly, the ogre Grunn wanders into the tavern, startling everyone. He insists that he is hungry and wants food. Unfortunately, before he can get it, it turns out that he is being chased by a scarlatti patrol. Nykkaen moves quickly to stop them from moving after Grunn, resulting in a tense stand-off where the scarlatti patrol order the dragonborn to stand aside, unnerving Led Falanodele. While the others see to Led and Grunn, the stand-off continues as the scarlatti attempt to bribe Nykkaen.   The engagement turns hot when the scarlatti lose their patience and open fire on Nykkaen. In a chaotic engagement, the party takes out the patrol. They hide the bodies before joining Led and Grunn by the lakeside. Escaping through the lake, the party and its two companions find respite outside the city walls, where Led explains the ruthless reputation of the Oriflamme and the unfortunate repercussions this action might have on his low elvish family who live in the Cappebraccia Ghetto. The party agrees to save Led's family and heads back into Cappebraccia to do so.   On their way there, they stop by the cathedral to retrieve the prayerbook and decypher the letters.   The translation of the letters reads:
The word was true, but I could not find the child. [Calhad]
I have not had news from our Lord, keep an eye out for the child. [Gilius]
