O&F5 Session 16: Date Night

22 Oakenfall, 103 III-Inter, Cappebraccia    It is the day of Oloward's "date", and in classic fashion, the wizard goes off entirely on his own. Elentari "Ela" and Ievos follow him from a distance, and see him meet with a distinguished-looking hooded gentleman who tells Oloward he has managed to draw his attention with their exploits at the Scarlet Bastion and that he needs his help foiling a momentous plot related both to the Inquisition and to the cultists. Not trusting enough to agree immediately, Oloward manages to convince the mysterious interlocutor to meet them at The Seat in five days' time.   From a distance, Ela and Ievos recognise the man's voice, and conclude that Oloward has been speaking to none other than the mysterious Montignac, the secretive patron of the Scarlet Oriflamme. They inform Oloward of this later.   Meanwhile at the pub, shenanigans ensue. Bubbles manages to get some worthwile information on the Arlesian agenda in Cappebraccia and thinks further on the connections the mysterious cult who murdered the bishop might have to events. Tavi has a date of her own with Arduino, whom she takes flying. Arduino, described later as "a wuss", turns out to be guild clerk for an Adventurer's Guild who lives with his mother, and is so intimidated by Tavi that the date never loses its awkwardness.   Nykkaen Kimbatuul strikes up a conversation with a Dwarvish gentleman from the Dwarfhold of Roghazad in the Westgauen who tells him a tall tale about a party of adventurers who came in and saved the city's prince from a Red Dragon named Hülleryx at a place called the Highcity of the Reusdom a few months ago. Somewhere along the line, he gets to making a few pyramids out of dwarves, much to everyone's amusement. When the party gets back, he unsuccessfully tries to convince them to go after Hülleryx, but this does bring the conversation to the matter of possible nearby dragons and it dawns on Bubbles that the presence of a bronze dragon might explain the strange weather over Hespius's Seat that they previously attributed to the Arlesians.   The group travel back to the Seat, where the elves have made great progress repairing the walls. A series of tents and shelters have been erected in the courtyard, with Led Falanodele setting up a new wooden tavern, where he welcomes the party with free drinks in return for no rent.
