He was living a normal life with his husband until he was attacked by an escaped Vanguard experiment in the form of a feral injured werewolf. when changed, he was forced to become a member of The Harolds in order to stay alive and keep Howard and his friends safe.
He is considered an antagonist in other stories due to his unwilling affiliation with the Harolds.

Personal history
born to a single mother and chronically ill, he had a normal life until her death when he was 17. unable to hold any sort of job, as soon as he turned 18 he decided to become a sugar baby to survive. He bounced around different men and women for a few years until he met Howard and the two eventually genuinely fell in love.
With Howard is was strictly non sexual due to age and power dynamics. Eventually they fell in love and began a relationship for real
One day when he was camping with his friend (placeholder) he was attacked by a rouge werewolf. dispite being vaccinated against the virus, this was a genetically modified strain that was used as a bioweapon he contracted lycanthropy and became a werewolf.
Because of the bioweapon nature, he is an unwilling member of Heralds for his and Howards life and freedom.
Employment
Originally, he was 'employed' as a sugar baby to his now husband Howard in order to pay for his healthcare. Eventually they fell in love and he became a stay at home boyfriend then husband.
