Palakyria

Structure

Palakyria is a kingdom, ruled by a king who governs with near supreme power, answering only to themselves. Below the king, there are lords, then dukes, then counts, and lastly barons, with other niche nobles such as marques governing the day to day workings of the kingdom. Other than being a standard feudalistic society, it is unique because of an additional extra-governmental law system that runs parallel to the actual government: The Accords of Veneration, or colloquially known as The Accord.
The Accord exists to interpret doctrines from a series of religious texts known as the Tantras, and will either work with the local nobility in order to shape their governmental system to be faithful to a particular Tantra or to unofficially enforce one or multiple Tantras on areas that the Accord deems in dire need of "moral adjustment". More information on the Tantras and The Accords of Veneration can be found in their own respective pages, but to give a summary, the Tantras are a group of differing but ultimately interconnecting stories and teachings from the old Ancient pantheon, an The Accords are a group of like minded churches that each favor certain Tantras but ultimately work as a cohesive whole.
While legally the Accord holds no actual power, many members of nobility willingly give up some of theirs to the Accord, and, as stated before, will work with the Accords to align their governing with the teachings of a particular Tantra. The one time Dragon of Palakyria, Ymroth the Pious, was one such worshiper of the Tantras, hence the name.

Public Agenda

Like most nations, their major agendas are to obtain resources and manpower to secure a superior lifestyle for their citizens and themselves, however Palakyria is known for its attempts at proselytization, or at its exile of other emergent religious groups such as the Church of the Rising Star.

Assets

Palakyria is well known for its ability to produce excellent troops and abundance of mineral goods, such as rock, metal, and gems. Palakyria has a long history of noted military science and technique. The term "paladin" actually originates from Palakyria, as it was originally a caste of powerful shock troops who would be unaffected by morale or the temptation of insubordination.
