Sunjatti Solar System

Colorful map of the Sunjatti Solar System - 13 planets of varying blues, purples, greens, and reds as well as sizes orbiting a pale yellow-orange sun of gargantuan size (though not properly represented).
Sunjatti Solar System by Taro, Me

The Sunjatti Solar System is full of all manners of the strange and unusual in terms of celestial bodies.

The Inner Planets

1st. Gehenna (the Damned World) - The smallest planet in the system and closest to the sun, its thin atmosphere and soil are violent red and in constant fiery turmoil, its many blackstone mountain ranges like scars upon devil's flesh, often ravaged by seemingly endless firestorms. It has no ice caps, moons, or rings, and is viewed as an isolated world meant only for demons and damned souls. 13th in size.

2nd. Vespera (the Wasp World) - From Sunjatta, Vespera appears a sickly, venomous green, its atmosphere and stormy, volcanic surface reflecting the spectrum. Here, it rains acid and glass, and temperatures remain immeasurably high, though cooler than Gehenna. It has many small satellite moons and several thinning rings. 12th in size. Satellites: Venum, Ferrum, Monsigneus, Ignavis, and Novus, plus other, smaller, not-important satellites.

3rd. Sapanā (Mother's Dream World This planet's atmosphere reflects a pinkish, lilac color. It's blanketed in thick, swirling cloud cover and hidden, permanent storms that buffet the watery, rocky surface. It has four small moons and one thick vertical ring. It is viewed as a 'lovely, dreamy place', thusly tied to sleep magic. 10th in size. Moons: Sutnu, Rāhata, Kuhirō, and Prakāśa.

4th. Sunjatta (World of Emptiness This is the only confirmed populated planet in the system, blessed with all the right ingredients for sentient life. A large, watery planet that has served as the gods' playground since time immemorial. It has five moons. 9th in size. Moons: Petta, Arvati, Alt'haiya, Deluné, and Gôr.

  • Asteroid Belt: The Great Barrier; A dense ring of impassable asteroids protecting the inner planets from greater threats beyond.

The Central Planets

5th. Títanya (the Fey World A planet covered in murky, strange rainbow clouds, its atmosphere extremely thick. The distance between the surface and cloud layers make it appear as if a broken, hollowed shell. Its moons and satellites are many, and it has several sets of both thick and thin rings, visible or otherwise. Because of how odd it is as a celestial body, it's seen as a chaotic and nonsensical bridge between the world as Fe know it and the Fey World, in part believed to be where they originally came from. 7th in size. Moons: Rowan, Belkane, Morgana, Gwynivere, Chaelie, Nimue, Escanor, Lancelot, Emrys, Keres, then satellites.

6th. Tanpédhi (the Storm World The fourth largest planet in the system, a giant permanently embroiled in violent storms of varying shades of purples, blues, and pinks. Lightning often spiders across even its outermost layers of clouds, but, despite this, it is viewed as beautiful and uniquely feminine. It has 17 satellites, only 5 considered proper moons, and thin but numerous vertical rings. 4th in size. Moons: Kyra, Loraji, Bijulī, Tanpèt, and Tanpèla, plus 12 satellites.

7th. Rātona (the Red Hell A red desert planet plagued by molten iron rains, vicious volcanoes, lakes of yet more molten iron, and a thinning atmosphere that can't keep much of it in. From a distance, it appears entirely red, mimicking some visions of Sunjatti Hell. It has 3 moons and few, very thin rings. 5th in size. Moons: Cōṭa, Dāga, and Kharānī.

8th. Galatéa ('Milk White' World The largest planet in the system, it is an ice planet dotted with icy volcanoes and iron red streaks beneath its impenetrable layer of blue-white clouds. It is sometimes viewed as more heavenly than Svarga, until the clouds disperse and it looks like it's bleeding. It has 3 moons the size of small planets, many smaller satellites, and only thin, nearly invisible rings of ice. 1st in size. Moons: Noeie, Oberon, Pellinore, then satellites.

9th. Dubēsansā (the Drowned World The second largest planet in the system behind Galatéa, Dubēsansā is a blue waterworld with no known/visible land, and a thick enough atmosphere to suggest it could theoretically support life. It is surrounded by cosmic satellites and possesses only 2 proper moons. 2nd in size. Moons: Samudra & Hāvā.

  • Asteroid Belt: The Tellurian Belt - thiinner and wider-spread than the Great Barrier, thus less effective in protecting the middle planets from other cosmic bodies.

The Outer Planets

10th. Balārha (the Snowy World (lit. 'spear of ice') A mysterious, smooth and inactive world of ice and snow, its surface and atmosphere reflect the blue-white calmness of the midwinter snows of Miraglas and is thus closely tied to its culture, believed to be a manifestation of the Hydra. It has two moons and thinning ice rings. 8th in size. Moons: Barapha & Difeāgō.

11th. Sundara (the Beautiful World A lush, green world that appears light green from Sunjatta, its 'little sister' (they are even close in size), this planet is something of a paradox as it supports an alien sort of life despite its distance from the sun, complete with tropical rain forests and expansive ice caps, or otherwise varying climates. It has 3 moons and no visible rings. 6th in size. Moons: Etta, Candramā, and Sētōvām.

12th. Svarga (the Heaven World Svarga is a seemingly perfect orb of grayscale clouds, its atmosphere cold and thinning away. Its surface, when those clouds dissipate, is deceptively colorful and littered with crystalline geysers and quicksilver. It is one of the smallest planets in the system. Due to its beauty and relatively calm surface, it is viewed as a sort of haven, heaven among the stars. It has one moon. 11th in size. Moon: Bādala.

13th. Fèdhyāro (the Dark World Its naming is straightforward: The planet is thickly coated in unerringly dark clouds and cosmic dust, its surface forever hidden. Nothing is known about it but that it is very dark and gets little sunlight, thus reflecting little in return. It is viewed as a realm of shadows, spirits, and death, thus tied to Abyssal, Spacial, divination, necromancy, and select other magics. It has one moon and one ring of mangled satellites. 3rd in size. Moon: Chāyā.

I may expand on this in the future, in terms of magical and spiritual symbolism.

Admittedly cobbled together, but functional reference of the Sunjatti Solar System; I nearly completely forgot about the vital importance of stars in Sunjatti ritual, Spacial, Gravitic, divination, etc magics, as well as culturally for many, many cultures across the globe - this patchwork ought to at least serve as a decent representation for the planets in the system; The sun is somewhat pale (it does get very hot on Sunjatta), but had to be dramatically cut to save on data for this to be postable. The overlapping of planets was merely to ensure they all would fit within the perameters my editor would allow. Likewise, the sizes of each planet are relative and meant to illustrate generalities. I will swap this out for a better, more complete version at a later date.
