Rati is the Sanatanis goddess of love, carnal desire and passion and she is also the wife of Kamadeva, the god of love. As one of many daughters of Daksha, she is a sister to several of Kashyapa's wives such as Aditi and Diti as well as the Nakshastras. Beautiful, enchanting, sensual, Rati is known to be able to instill desire in anyone! She is graceful and charming, enchanting others with lust and pleasure. But she is devoted to her husband Kama, pleading with Shiva to restore him after his body was reduced to ash. Her devotion moved Shiva, ressurecting Kama in a non-physical form. |
