Ugin Stonefoot
Backstory
Ugin Stonefoot was born under a red banner of House Stonefoot stitched with her house’s flaming dragon. Her father, Timur Stonefoot, ruled from a traveling ordo that guarded caravan routes across the Southern Steppes. He taught her maps before letters and the weight of a treaty before the weight of a blade. When a white winter took him, Ugin clasped his iron belt and accepted the oaths of riders and merchants.
Small even for a gnome, she mastered presence. She negotiates from a low stool with tea steaming, yet her gaze pins warlords. Traders prosper under her low tolls. Her yurts blaze with learning. Scribes copy routes. Musicians teach the horse-head fiddle. Though she rules over the permanent settlements of Swifthollow and Hearthhill , she often travels the steppes in the semi nomadic traditions of her ancestors.
She carries two guiding virtues. First, strategic patience. Ugin rides slowly around problems until they lose all exits. Second, principled fairness. She weighs grievances evenly and binds rivals with balanced terms.
Her fault is flint-hard suspicion. She tests friends thrice, keeps backup horses saddled, and hides coin ledgers in the hearth. Conspirators find their plots spent before they begin, yet honest allies sometimes feel the chill.
Ugin dreams of a lattice of trade tents from coast to mountain. She will braid peace through profit and carve her father’s name into the wind.
