Merchant Prince Mercenaries

Lore

Unlike most noble houses in Belkar, House Brightwater does not train its own soldiers. Instead preferring to higher well trained and experienced fighters from elsewhere. This practice has been going on for as long as the house has records, so no start date is known.

Interestingly this method has proven extremely effective for House Brightwater, as it allows them to hire sellswords that counter whatever foe they are facing - heavy Ravenseye Hoplites mosty recently were no match for the pavise crossbows.

There is always a question of loyalty, as sell-swords are known to have little. Brightwater believes in loyalty to coin, however many of the sellswords stay for multiple contracts and often settle in the city or surrounding area as they feel a kinship with the house that paid them.

These mercenaries could be armed with all manner of weapons or any type and style of armour.

Strength

280/280

The Merchant Prince Mercenaries, are unqiue in Belkar. Rather than train thier own expensive fighting men, House Brightwater thinks it is cheaper to hire excellent soldiers.
