Founded in 890 CA as caravan guards for wealthy merchants, who ultimatly become House Moonshadow. These mounted caravan guards soon became an elite force of light cavalry, possibly the best in Belkar. Their numbers have been mostly stable since 900 CA, and although they still protect the caravans of House Moonshadow these Antelope riders often accompany the nobles as personal bodyguards as well. As time went on the centre of power for House Moonshadow shifted from Elmstar to Haven Oaks. As such the Antelope riders shifted their main force to Haven Oaks. Due to the lighter size of antelopes and their armour, the antelope riders prefer to hit hard and then melt away rather than a prolonged engagement. Armed with light armour, javalins and a spatha sword, these soldiers make short work of anybody silly enough to attack thier caravans. The cost of equiping this force means that members of it typically come from upper middle class merchants and veteran sell-swords looking for a home.
