Heidi Weft

Heidi Weft is a dwarven lady found in Weaverly Place. She is from Shantung Island, an island East of Yud'dha that is populated primarily by Dwarves. She had strict parents who always followed dwarven traditions. Her father was a miner and her mother worked in the local cottage industry as a weaver. Heidi spent all of her time as a young child assisting her mother at the loom and dreaming of grand adventure on the high seas. When she got older, she became a master weaver and became very well known on the island for her skills. Following dwarven tradition, she got tattoos on her arms which she used as a reference for different textile patterns she could make.

Although she was pressured by her family to marry, she stayed single for many years until she met Radzamir Weft, a charming pirate from a nearby island. They fell in love and eloped. She travelled with him for a few voyages and worked as a deck hand. When she became pregnant with Twilliam Weft, she returned home as a weaver to raise him there. Radzamir visits as often as he is able and teaches Twilliam Thieves' Cant and other tools of his dubious trade.

Soon after Twilliam comes of age, Radzamir dies in a firefight against the Seduisant, a rival pirate crew. When the news reaches Shantung, Twilliam swears to avenge his father's death and joins a pirate crew aboard the Black Purl. He is armed with his father's weapons and scarf which were left to him, a magically infused chainmail woven by Heidi and a set of earmuffs she made for him in case it got cold. Envious of his armor, other members of the crew convince Heidi to create more and she makes a small fortune suppling magical armor to various pirate crews in Yud'dha.

After a few years of her son not writing back, she gets upset and decides to visit him. She journeys to Yud'dha and talks to her network of contacts in order to figure out where he is. Hearing that his crew was last seen headed to the Wild Magic Tables Casino, she sets off to track him down. Arriving at the Casino, she is welcomed by the Magidrone staff with open arms. She manages to track down the leader of the Black Purl, Captain Shalloon, and grill him on the whereabouts of her son. The captain is unaware of where Twilliam had disappeared to, but invites her to gamble with them. She decides to take him up on his offer, finding great success in the casino, where she continues her search for her son within its walls.

When the party meets Heidi in Weaverly Place, she greets them with a kind smile. She has a long sleeve pink sweater covering her tattoos and intricate patterns woven into her traditional dwarven circle skirt. She sits on a stool before a loom, weaving complex patterns into the cloth from memory. She gives them a knitted hood to give to her son if they can find him. She tells them his name is Twilliam Weft and that he always wears a burgundy scarf his father once owned.

Heidi is now on the White Hawk after the fall of the Casino. She is hitching a ride back to Yud'dha or Shantung, whichever they happen upon first.
