The Monarch

The Monarch is a god which is tied to the monotheistic Oberonic Faith. The Monarch, like many gods, is thought to be omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent and omnibenevolent who has existed before the universe has come into being and will exist after it. The Monarch is thought to be the literal thread that ties the universe together, pulling Order from Chaos.   The Faith of the Monarch states that the Monarch was the creator of the universe, coming not just before all other gods, but creating all of them too. Coupled with the zealous language in many holy texts during the time of the Sundering, those who believe in the Monarch often seek out and convert those who do not believe. If coercion does not cut it, then many Monites have no qualms ostracizing other faiths.     The Monarch traditionally has no gender but in recent penned Scriptures by the Oberonic Church he has been given male pronouns due to the current Emperor being a male. This amendment was made to stress further that the Church is the only legitimate avenue of worshiping the Monarch.   The Monarch is the master of the elemental plane of Light, called Haven (Proxian) or Aelia in the Ancient Tongue. This is a plane where extreme order and sanctity rule and any form of disorder is swiftly banished or corrected by its inhabitants.   The Monarch boasts considerable direct power over Holy magic, it is even thought to be the originator of the school itself. It's power levels are theoretical as no being divine or mortal has ever looked upon the Monarch, but the extent of it's powers may be so great that it could theoretically use Holy magic as a substitute for the raw and often dangerous school of Arcane in the process of forming pacts and creating objects.   The Monarch's attributes that are present in all holy texts are the following:
Limitless power
- Limitless knowledge
- Not bound by time
- Benevolence
- Indivisibility
- Simplicity
- Incorporeality
- Lack of Change   According to the Oberonic Church, the Monarch has ordered that the nation of Proxia undertake a 'Great Crusade' across the world, converting all lands they come across into the Monarchic Faith. Crusaders - heroes displaying Holy magic gifted to them by a Holy deity - have swelled the ranks of the elite force known as the Protectorate preaching that they are the Monarch's messengers. The Monarch certainly favours their crusade at least enough to donate its power to these heroes.
From a perspective outside the Church, The Monarch's forces seem to currently be occupied maintaining 'order' in the planar realms. Namely in regards to banishing demons and devils wherever they appear. Quo'rhinic Mages have reported a considerable amount of Monarch aligned entities are regularly seen in Pandemonious at the site of demonic incursions.
