It is debated whether the gods created or found Eltharas. In either case they are considered to have taken interest in the world of Eltharas from this time. It is said they gave Eltharas the ability to host life. Great debate arises between them in what purpose Eltharas has and how they should interact with it.

It is debated whether the gods created or found Eltharas. In either case they are considered to have taken interest in the world of Eltharas from this time. It is said they gave Eltharas the ability to host life. Great debate arises between them in what purpose Eltharas has and how they should interact with it.

Melora says she wants to give it life and observe how that life itself shapes and grows on the planet. None know what life is yet, but sense some intent and meaning in what she says.

Corellon agrees and wonders at what may be discovered this way. Corellon begins see how life can be woven from the firmament, a touch of magic giving it potential and separating it from the gods themselves who otherwise are all things. Perhaps it is that Melora and Corellon in this moment made mortal life of fragments of themselves combined, in a way birthing it in a union between them. Or they simply speak it into being once all gods have agreed.

Ioun also gives favour to this plan and speaks of observing this life and seeing what it does, perhaps knowing how the life they create lives they will better know themselves.

Pelor and Sehanine somewhat agree, saying it should have light so it can be better observed, and to encourage the life to flourish under their sight.

Zehir says that if there is light there must also be darkness so that life lives not always in the light.

Sehanine says she will take her two children and bring some respite to the night that Zehir decrees. Zehir prickles, but chooses not to object yet. Instead, they consider. Pelor is saddened to be kept far from his mate and their children so often, but agrees. And he knows they will still see each other from time to time.

The god of death declares that for life to have meaning it must not just be granted, but it must also end. All things must have an end in time. Perhaps time itself is created in this moment. And some say the eventual death of Eltharas and the gods themselves.

Avandra declares that life must grow and change, so it can make its way from beginning to the end that the god of death speaks of. Perhaps change through this cycle will help life to avoid death longer or greet it better. Ioun is intrigued and takes note.

Kord sees that life will need to strive, and in the changing become stronger so as to better survive in the different ways it may flourish if only it becomes strong enough in the right ways. Avandra sees that Kord's design is a mirror of her own and encourages it to work. She sees the grief in it, but sees it balances her intentions.

Bane merely says that life growing, changing and strengthening will certainly cause its many manifestations to contend with each other. It is in that contention, he says, its worth and accomplishments shall truly be known.

Zehir quietly looks in the dark places and whispers to life how to thrive there, without the light, and to kill those things that, in turn, have killed them. Sacrifice and revenge born in a drop of poison.

Lolth sees what Zehir has done and, always dismissive to her mate, claims she cares little for it. But she watches and, in time, she tells some of the life the secrets to crawling on many legs, the better to make their way safety in dark places, and how to bite their enemies with the poison Zehir had given them.

Asmodeus simply states that life may do all these things as their brethren have designed, but will know always the gods as their superiors, and must not grow to challenge them. The gods, he says, must always have dominion of their works.

As the others debate and discuss, Gruumsh watches. In a moment Gruumsh reaches out and snuffs out some of the life they have set forth. Asmodeus laughs and affirms that this is their right to do so. Many of the gods are shocked and hurt by what Gruumsh has done. None more than Corellon who says they are betrayed by this act. They are no longer lovers if ever they were.

Bahamut, furious at this turn and otherwise quiet until now, objects and says there must be an answer for this act. What one has created, another cannot destroy without leave to do so, Bahamut asserts. There must be a response. Justice for what has been done. In reply, Tiamat says that they are gods. What they can do they may do. Their might makes it so. As always, the siblings cannot bring themselves to agree.

Tharizdun who has only been only observer to this point shouts down the arguments and protestations. He declares that they must resolve this. Gruumsh makes no apology, and does not pledge peace, but looking upon Eltharas again points out that life grows back to where his destruction had struck. He asks the others, if this is not truly their design? Contention, struggle, growth, strength, death, and change.

And so life begins. And some would say models the way in which it was created evermore.
