Demonic Localization

Hell is not just a plane or a dimension, it is something more… alive. It has wants and desires, and changes all things that enter its confines to better reflect its demonic visage. Spending time in hell can change a person, not just psychologically or spiritually but physically, mutating the very soul or essence of whatever passes through its gates. The process is slow, taking months to change even small objects with larger materials and creatures taking years or even decades to be fully altered by Hell’s influence. It matters not where the altered thing came from or what it once was. Hell does not discriminate, it does not care for the desires or makeup of what it changes. It can be resisted, prolonged, even reversed, but while one resides in Hell, it is an absolute certainty. The change is inevitable and will befall all things that traverse Hell.   The pitt has no native life of its own driving it to crave for new beings to enter its chasm to be warped into its twisted view of the ideal creatures. Nothing is truly native to Hell, not even demons, with all that lies within its gullet being that of another plane now contorted to be a part of it. Hell cannot create, it can only change those who enter it, and if alteration proves too difficult it can always dismantle them, reusing what once made them to craft new entities from them.   The demonic power is like a loan, something borrowed. It cannot persist out of Hell without something to contain and maintain it, leaving it to slowly dissipate. Unless something has been warped at its very essence, it may revert slowly to its unaltered form with the progression occuring at an identical rate to the initial transformation. Depending at what stage the intervention occurs, portions of the transformation will become permanent leaving scars both physically and mentally. Even years after the complete dissipation, some fragments of Hell will linger within the host leaving them perpetually disconnected from both Hell and their original plane of existence.
