Argent Capital

The capital city of the Argent region of Lagorn, sometimes referred to as "The Silver Capital" or simply "Argent". It is the second largest city in all of Lagorn. Ruled by the bitter and ambitious Silver King, Tor'Diveth, the capital often faces periods of hardship due to his stubbornness. Winters are especially hard as the poorer parts of the city are given fewer resources to prepare for the heavy snows.

The Silver Citadel sits atop the cliff overlooking the Dragma Ocean. From there, the city expands outward into semi-circular districts called "arches". The Evergreen Arch is home to the wealthy and the more affluent shops and businesses. The Divine Arch is the religious center of the city with large temples to each of The Five and several smaller temples for the other gods. The Festival Arch holds the majority of business for the common people and slowly transitions into the poorer districts, nicknamed "the Snowbanks" for the amount of snow that piles up in the winter.

Demographics

The bulk of the population is made up of species who are adapted to the cold and able to withstand the harsh winters. White and Silver Dragonborn, Goliaths, and Tebaxi are all common sights with Dragonborn making up a large part of the aristocracy. Other species have made their homes here, but take greater precautions against the colder months.

In all of Lagorn, Argent has the greatest divide between the wealthy and poor. The wealthy share in the Silver King's arrogance, looking down on the poor who struggle with the high taxes set down by the city magistrates.

Government

While Tor'Diveth is the official ruler of the Argent region, his reputation as the "do nothing duke" is well earned as he leaves the actual act of governing to his council of magistrates. The magistrates are a group of four Dragonborn aristocrats whose greed rivals even a true dragon. They set down crushing taxes to feed their own lavish lifestyles and empower the city's Frostguard to keep the populace in line.

Defences

Simple walls surround the Snowbanks and the Festival Arch with sturdier walls deeper in, dividing the wealthier arches and the citadel. In addition to being physically smaller, the outer walls have fewer guards for the distance they cover. Despite having the power to devastate an invading force himself, the Silver King keeps the bulk of his army close at hand.

The Frostguard are a small faction of the Argent Army, designated as the defenders of the city. They answer to the magistrates rather than the Silver King. As such, they are given authority to act as they see fit and often bully the poorer residents when it is time to collect taxes.

Districts

Silver Citadel - A massive stone palace adorned with silver accents. The structure itself wraps around a large courtyard where Tor'Diveth rests in his draconic form. The council room features a balcony overlooking the courtyard where Tor'Diveth can raise his head to take part in meetings, if he so desires.

Evergreen Arch - The wealthy district where aristocrats and high priced businesses are found. High end goods, the finest fashions, talented enchanters, and beautiful courtesans can all be found on these streets. This is the most heavily guarded district.

Divine Arch - The religious district that houses temples to The Five. Each of the core gods has their own temple here, along with a separate temple to honor Ascended Chaos and Order and several shrines to the lesser gods.

Festival Arch - The district where the bulk of the businesses, including the Silver College, are housed. It gets its name from the huge festivals that are held at the height of each season.

The Snowbanks - The poor section of the city. there is no wall dividing the Snowbanks from the Festival Arch. In the winter, the poor are given few resources to prepare for the heavy snows which is how the district gets its name.
