Kimera
Kimera are effectively the fifth class of Kithine on Ellecrid. Kithine are distinct from their fellow Kith, though they may not immedeatly look it. What sets Kimera apart for other Kith is that these beings exist as living representations of a deep rooted Taboo within the Path. Kimera are Kith born of two parents who are not members of the same class of Kith, therefore, they may share qualities and properties of both.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Kimera Kith, like their class bretheren, share biological similarities to humanoid, anthropomorphisms. They are not, however, restricted by a single genus or even species of the class. Depending on the partners who conceived the kimera, they may share qualities of both parents, unrestricted by what natural law or the Path would dictate.
For example, a Kimera born of Mammalian and Reptilian parentage may have fur, but also have scales or even cold blood, despite their fur. Additionally, Avian and Mammalian Kimera may have a toothy maw, but hollow bones. The combinations and inherited traits are seemingly endless.
Genetics and Reproduction
As interesting as Kimera are, they do not reproduce frequently or reliably. It seems as though their biological make-up in their reproductive organs are prone to unaided sterilization, leading to a distinct lack of offspring and therefore a continuation of the Kimera genus.

Lifespan
2-3 weeks to 11-23 years
Conservation Status
Officially, the Kimera are not under conservation status, however, many have taken it upon themselves to grant them sanctuary and asylum from persecution by their kin in various states or institutions of privilege. Since Kimera are not thought of well in their communities, they often flee to more civilized and affirming communities, which more often than not puts them in places of scholarly research, that sometimes abuses their trauma for the benefit of research.
