Dolasoi
A sleek mammalian-like large fish with thick skin and blubber under that skin. It resembles tubular shape with triangular fins and split fin for a tail. It lives in the equatorial zones of the oceans and predominantly hunts smaller fish and eels.
Highly social, the species gathers in pods, where the more robust do the hunting and protection and more vulnerable care for the young. They will often assist in human endeavors out of curiosity or if the humans seem in need of help.
Basic Information
Ecology and Habitats
Most species live in the semi-deep, where they can easily access the shoreline but still dive deep in the oceanic shelf regions. Their pods often choose warmer waters for reproduction and young-bearing, and shift south for the maturation of young to adults.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Eats mostly fish-like squids or eels. They corral them into groups via hunting parties and then killed by a thwack of their fins. The food is then eaten together with surplus brought back to the pod in general for feeding more vulnerable members.
