Session 3.11

General Summary

During the party’s second night in Uhlmar the group was invited to a gathering with Uhlmar’s big players from each faction at the Hall of Ember and Iron. The party utilized this opportunity to network and acquaint themselves with some important people as well as make an impression, either positively or negatively, on the factions. Through their interactions, the group had earned themselves an audience with the Emberborn Kin (EBK) as well as the Bloodtide Brotherhood (BTB) for the following day to spread their roots in the city in hopes of forging and alliance and convincing the Chieftain to release the Peche villagers to the party’s custody. Soren had shared with the group that he was given a note by a mysterious orc, offering city/faction secrets in exchange for money, personal secrets, or a favor to be utilized in the future.   The following day the party had 3 meetings (EK, BTB, Chieftain) to look forward. Their first meeting took the party under the Emberforge for a meeting with Matron Vulka Emberborn, and Forge Speaker Rhunuvar. Both members of the EK had notified the group that the Dwarves of Darandell had provided them with schematics for some dangerous weapons. Shortly, the master craftsmen of their clan forged the weapons on the schematics. However, two weeks ago, both the schematics and the weapons were stolen.   Neither of the EBK leaders knew how they were taken or for what purpose, they simply notified the party that they were both dangerous for the city as well as the user. The party had begun their investigation by searching the EBK common room finding multiple hiding places for little trinkets and knickknacks, but nothing pertaining to the items in question. After further investigation, the party’s search proved fruitless but still had the option of either questioning the recently fired orc guard who was present during the night of the theft, as well as utilizing Soren’s information broker.   After the first meeting, the group then met with Chieftain Igmut at the Skyfury Citadel. There the party had met with a distraught leader who was coming to terms with the fact that she may lose her position. She had reflected upon all the positive changes she had implemented within her time in power. When the party had asked who might be responsible, she did not point the finger at any one person or faction and instead welcomed the disagreement saying that opposition prevents complacency. All she had asked was that if the party came across those that are hostile to her to merely sway their hearts to her side.   At the end of the long night the party’s final meeting took place in the Dread Port District at a Warehouse known as the Dripping Blade. There the party met with the BTB’s second in command, Karhull “Tidebreaker”, who had said that within the past month merchant vessels coming into the Dread Port had been taxed by masked individuals. He had asked that the party investigate who is enacting this tax, where the money is going, and restoring merchant confidence in trading in Uhlmar.
