Temple of Midra

A small temple dedicated to Midra, located in the Silent Forest.  It is the home of the Reflections and so also acts as a garrison.

Purpose / Function

The temple acts as Midra's strongest place of influence.  Within the sacred structure, she can communicate more clearly, and is able to extend powerful protections to the temple. The grounds outside of the temple act as a place for Midra's Reflections to congregate.

Alterations

The temple started out as a simple cylindrical building with a decorated opaque glass dome as its roof.  Once the Reflections had settled in, they built two surrounding, semi-circular buildings to make the inner sanctum more defensible as well as to provide a place for the artisans of Anbim to create and store the moonforged weaponry and armor.  It was around this time that wooden houses and small farms were made in order to support the growing group.   Eventually the Reflections decided that the buildings were to haphazard and could make it difficult for them to defend the temple if intruders got past the protections in the woods.  They dismantled the houses and build new ones out of stone, creating the promenade.  It was at this time that the back entrance to the temple was sealed by joining the two surrounding buildings into one.  The fields that acted as a source of food for the reflections were slowly moved to the east to be as uniform as the land allowed.   Aspiring to create functional symmetry, trees to the west of the temple were also cleared and acted as a training ground for formations and duels, allowing the Reflections to practice single and group combat as well as tactics.   As the Reflections slowly lost influence and power, the fields became overgrown, and now are nearly unidentifiable from the rest of the forest with the exception of having less underbrush.  Many of the rooms in the promenade and inner circle have been boarded up as well to prevent animals from entering.  The buildings themselves look nearly as new as the day they were build thanks to Anbim's workers and Midra's blessings.

Architecture

The buildings are made of a white-blue stone resembling marble but stronger and more durable. They have arched ceilings and roofs, with no embellishment on the walls facing the forest.   A colonnade lines each of the promenade buildings' inner portion to protect from rain. The exterior walls that face other sections of the temple have more aesthetic appeal, with moonforged metals inlaid around doorframes, in the colonnade columns, and along the thin windows.
