House of Roses

The House of Roses is a guild made up of druids and paladins in the city of Mistpeak. They form the suborders of the Order of the Green Rose and the Order of the White Rose, respectively. The house focuses on respecting the land around them that the gods worked so hard to create and maintain. Oftentimes they travel to far off lands to perform special rituals or to defeat a corrupting force. The House of Roses is seen as a benevolent, if sometimes overbearing, force for good, and is usually given leeway in matters of law as long as they do not cause too much trouble.

Structure

Each suborder is led by a guild master, and the two work together to send their forces to the most important places. Besides them, the rest of the order is on more or less equal ground, and the people sent to head the investigations or rituals are assigned based on ability to lead. The guild master of each order passes their mantle on whomever they feel deserves it whenever they retire, and in the event that one of the guild masters die unexpectedly, the other guild master is in charge of assigning the new master of the other order, though they must listen to the council of the rest of the other order. If both die unexpectedly an emergency vote is held immediately after there is enough people to reasonably represent the rest of each order.

Public Agenda

The House of Roses is there to protect the land and snuff out forces that corrupt or destroy it. They will send groups to perform rituals or to aid groups of people in need if there is no great threat to Arheim, so this is what most members end up doing on a day to day basis.

Assets

The House of Roses is one of the largest militant groups working outside the government, and has over two hundred combat ready magic users at all times.

History

Two hundred years before the discovery of Greater Smiltis, the House of Roses was co-founded by Artiya the Calm and Gu ze the Holy. The pair, at that time members of the Witch Hunt, helped destroy a coven of witches in the mountains of Zetia and afterwards decided that they needed a more permanent force to ensure the natural balance is maintained. With approval from the Royal Council in Mistpeak as well as the Zetian chapter of the Witch Hunt, they began to reach out to druids and paladins around the world, and gathered them to one place. They then trained them in their ways and began to enforce their tenants, which were wildly different from the brutal Witch Hunt.
Over time the houses became so large that they had to split the House into two separate orders: one for druids and one for paladins. The separation was mostly only to provide a clearer chain of command once Artiya and Gu ze passed away, as the orders intermingle to form more well rounded group formations and skill sets. At present, the House of Roses has been lashing out at many artificers that attempt to peddle their wares, and they are the only reason a Duneway is not being constructed in Arheim's territory.
