Languages

The land of Elgis is vast, and that distance has encouraged a multitude of languages to emerge from some original language, these are called Local languages. Local languages include Mavanian, which uses tongue clicks in part and comes across as harsh-sounding to outsiders, Ardetinian, which flows from one word to the other and is hard for outsiders to learn, and Garan, which has a comparatively minuscule amount of sounds but makes up for it by using body language and facial expressions to convey information.   Aside from Local languages, there is also one language shared amongst most of the map, especially along trade routes, called Common language. Common language is a hybrid language of Mavanian and Ardetinian, spoken in an entirely new accent, lacking the flow of Ardetinian.
