Pure dracheneisen glows white when monsters are nearby. Brandishing an item made of dracheneisen at a monster will typically cause the monster to reel back unless it makes an extreme effort of will. Dracheneisen items are known to burn monsters and sorcerers who are currently using magic.
Dracheneisen is extremely hard to destroy. The techniques used to make it have been lost, so the only known way of destroying it is to drop it into a volcano.

Through a process that is not well understood, dracheneisen can become tarnished. In such a state, it becomes discolored and loses many of its beneficial properties against monsters and sorcerers.
