E.V.E.

Those androids who have elected to use the E.V.E. operating system typically have a vested interest in joining human society and cultures. Whether it is an act of solidarity and support, or as a way to imbed one's self in society to cause mayhem. Although stored in a mechanical body the consciousness of an Android is still extremely human, and most if not all androids view themselves as a sub-species or ethnic race of the human race. This altruistic intention is not always the case some androids view themselves as higher intelligence, or as the next progression of evolution. This can lead to a sort of god complex and a nihilism toward human emotion and safety.

The E.V.E. Operating System

Electing to take the E.V.E. class grants you access to features and abilities that modify the way you view and interact with the world. From sensing the mood and intention of humans, viewing the world move at a fraction of time or through the lenses of x-ray and infrared, imitating sounds and creating illusions through nanotechnology programs, or just through research and distribution of communications across major distances. The E.V.E. class is an efficient Support and Interaction class, aiding your party in social encounters, and assisting them in perceiving things they are incapable of.

Choosing Your Appearance

The E.V.E. operating system is typically designed as a replication of the human form that almost always crossed the uncanny valley. Most choose attractive young human forms of any race, gender, or age. Some androids quickly realized that replicating the ideal image for any situation they were to engage in was of extreme importance and benefit. Androids who wished to teach children would design their E.V.E. operating system to appear as a kindly school teachers. Androids interested in criminal or political employment cut an intimidating image.

Although less common some androids elected to replicate or modify human appearance with their E.V.E. systems in peculiar ways, human-like androids with glowing eyes, fangs, elf ears, vibrant hairs, or even disproportionately sized bodies or body parts weren't unheard of. The only limitation to these modifications made upon the manufacturers of E.V.E. systems by the government was that an operating system could not be made to replicate an existing human exactly. After a slew of ill intent, E.V.E. androids attempted to enter government buildings in operating systems mimicking government officials. This only applied to the image of living humans and some androids decided to use the image of famous people from past eras. There was an android who received incredible fame, on the social media platform TikTok, by imitating Freddie Mercury.

Whatever form your operating system takes, whether human or not, your appearance provides no mechanical advantage. But some humans may not be welcoming of obviously inhuman androids.

Eden Carter

The Eden Project's Downfall

After the success of The Eden Project Dr. Carter and Eden quickly realized their misfortune. Although Eden would survive much longer in a digital form, she now only existed in consciousness. The lack of the sight sound and touch of their wife soon drove Dr. Carter and Eden into a frenzied search for a way to provide Eden with the same sensation she had access to within her human body. While robotics technology had jumped forward with the rest of technology after the discovery of Element 133 at DUSY, and the invention of the Exabyte Drive by Dr. Carter. But the technology of how to allow a human to experience sensation from a machine limb was still early in its conception, let allow the newly digital consciousness of Eden.

But with the money provided by government contracts for use of the Consciousness Download, the Exabyte Drive, and other notable technologies. The solution was soon found. The downsides were apparent immediately, the digital conscious of Eden would be given an android body but it could not be done by one company, an entirely new industry of manufacturing was soon developed and a group of companies became The Garden of Eden Corp.

While expensive to manufacture, all new androids created for healthcare reasons would be free to those who needed them, and children of android parents could soon receive multiple operating systems as they grew. The project, funded by Dr. Carter's success, was extremely well executed. But, after the End of the World, The Garden of Eden is no longer able to create operating systems for all that need it. Instead, new androids often design and build their new systems by hand using 3D Printing technologies. And older androids have begun to learn to repair themselves.

While minor injury and wear and tear are repaired by nanotechnology within the 'blood' of an operating system. Major injuries are extremely difficult to repair. This has resulted in a new mortality mentality for androids and their friends.

E.V.E.s from Pop Culture

While not accurate in every sense here are some good examples of E.V.E. androids in pop culture.

Ultron from the MCU, the Iron Giant, R2-D2 and BB8 Baymax from Big Hero Six, RoboCop, B-9 from Lost in Space, The Sentinels from X-Men, Hunter Killers, Harvesters, and T-I from the Terminator movies, EVE from WALLE, and Data from Star Trek.

/*Class IV Sensor System*/

Sensor System: Class V - 2500 AXP

TIER ONE FEATURE: Sensor System: Class V

This sensor system includes hi-res video sensors, hi-fidelity audio sensors, a chemical vapor scanner, pressure sensors, and either a ladar or sonar system. Ladar uses laser detectors and ranging sensors to rapidly play low-powered laser beams across your surroundings, allowing you to locate targets. Sonar sensors are used mostly in subaquatic environments, but the technology works almost as well in the air. By bouncing sound waves off objects and measuring the length of time it takes to receive an echo, sonar can produce a clear image of your surroundings.

  • Ladar Version: An android with a ladar-equipped Class V sensor system gains a +4 bonus on Perception checks made to see, and a +2 bonus on Perception checks made to listen. Additionally, you are granted darkvision out to 60 feet. Allowing you to see in the dark within a specific radius. You can see in dim light within the radius as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You are unable to discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
  • Sonar Version: An android with a sonar-equipped Class V sensor system gains a +4 bonus on Perception checks made to listen, and a +2 equipment bonus on Perception checks made to see. All other skill checks are made without penalty. Additionally you are granted blindsight out to 60 feet. Allowing you to can preceive your surroundings without relying on sight, within this radius.

These bonuses stack with the bonus received from Sensor System: Class IV.

Intercom - 2500 AXP

TIER ONE FEATURE: Intercom

    • AXP: 2500
    • Pre-Requisites: None
    • Grants Access To: None

Your opperating system becomes equiped with the ability to project sound through any and all speaker systems in your area. All creatures within 500 feet of you can hear you, as well as any creatures within earshot of any speaker system within 5 miles of you. Regardless of if it has power or internet conection. Your voice or any other projected sound that you can create or hear booms over this system as if over an intercom.

Mimicry - 2500 AXP

TIER ONE FEATURE: Mimicry

Your perception and understanding of abilities allow you mimic other creatures. There is no range limit requirement for mimicking another creature as detailed in the features of this tree. The only requirement is that you can physically see or hear the creature perform the task. This could be a video, phone call, or through binoculars if you prefer. Your access to this talent is represented by a number of mimic charges. Your Tier determines the number of charges you have, as shown in the Mimicry Charges table. You can spend these charges to fuel a majority of your mimicry features.

You start knowing two such features: Emulate, and Likeness. You learn more mimicry talents like this as you gain features in this tree. To use one of these mimic features you need to concentrate on that feature meaning you can not use a separate mimicry feature while one is already active. When you spend a mimicry charge, it becomes unavailable until you finish a long rest, at the end of which you draw all of your expended mimicry charges back into yourself. The abilities you copy only last until your next turn however you can use a mimicry charge at the start of the next turn to keep the effects going if the ability would normally allow it. You can not copy abilities you already know. Some of your mimicry features require your target to make a saving throw to resist the feature’s effects, and some features use attack modifiers. The saving throw DCs, and attack modifier are calculated as follows:

Mimicry save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier
Mimicry attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier
Creature save DC = 5 + the creature’s level or challenge rating

Emulate

You gain the ability to copy the proficiency's of other creatures. When using an item you are not proficient in you can spend 1 mimicry charge to gain someone else's proficiency with it until the beginning of your next turn. You also use your Mimicry attack modifier when using someone else's proficiency, and replace all original modifiers with your Charisma modifier instead.

Copy

You gain the ability to copy the skills of another creature. When rolling a skill or ability check you may spend 1 mimicry charge to instead roll using another creature's statistics for the ability. This does not work with saving throws.

    • Grants Access To: None

After a creature uses an ability specific to their knowledge feats or class by spending 1 mimicry charge you can use your reaction to attempt mimic it. If you succeed on a Wisdom (Perception) roll against its creature save DC you gain the creatures feat or class specific ability until the beginning of your next turn. When attacking with your mimicked features use the mimic attack modifier, and replace all original modifiers with your Charisma modifier instead. You can not mimic a creature's spellcasting ability.

If using this feature without the associated Mimicry feature, you may use this feature a number of times per day equal to your Wisdom modifier.

Limited Psychic Firewall - 5600 AXP

TIER TWO FEATURE: Limited Psychic Firewall

    • AXP: 5600
    • Pre-Requisites: Constitution score of at least 12

By installing a series of protective measures to your concousness you become resistant to mind-influencing effects, poison, sleep, paralysis, stunning, disease, necromancy effects not caused by hacking, programming, or nanotechnology, and any effect that requires a Constitution save unless the effect also works on objects or is harmless. For any effect above requiring a saving throw gain +10 to that saving throw. You also gain proficiency in Constitution saving throws (nonstackable).

Piercing Sound - 3800 AXP

TIER TWO FEATURE: Piercing Sound

    • AXP: 3800
    • Pre-Requisites: None
    • Grants Access To: None

You can use an action to create a devastating wave of high pitched sound interrupting all thought processes of hostile creatures. All creatures within a 30ft radius centered on yourself make a Constitution saving throw (DC 12 + Tier). On a failure all creatures take 4d10 thunder damage and are stunned. On a success creatures take half damage and are not stunned. This ability creates a loud sound that can be heard from 200ft away. This ability can be used a number of times equal to your Tier + 1 per day.

/*Piercing Sound*/

Replicate - 3600 AXP

TIER TWO FEATURE: Replicate

    • AXP: 3600
    • Grants Access To: None

After you see a creature or object within your relative size with a flexibility of 1 larger or smaller, by spending 1 mimicry charge you can use your reaction to mimic its appearance by modifying the structure and color of your opperating system. For the next hour or until you dismiss it.

You make yourself, including your clothing, armor, Weapons, and other belongings on your person, look different until the effect ends or until you use your Action to dismiss it. You can seem 1-4 feet shorter or taller and can appear thin, fat, or in between. You can't change your body type, so you must adopt a form that has the same basic arrangement of limbs. Otherwise, the extent of the Illusion is up to you.

The changes wrought by this effect fail to hold up to physical inspection. For example, if you use this effect to add a hat to your outfit, Objects pass through the hat, and anyone who touches it would feel nothing or would feel your head and hair. If you use this effect to appear thinner than you are, the hand of someone who reaches out to touch you would bump into you while it was seemingly still in midair.

To discern that your appearance is fake, a creature can use its action to inspect your appearance and must succeed on a Intelligence (Investigation) check against your mimicry save DC.

/*Replicate*/

Support Aura - 6400 AXP

TIER TWO FEATURE: Support Aura

    • AXP: 6400
    • Pre-Requisites: None
    • Grants Access To: None

You can create an aura of support around you to strengthen you allies by guiding and coordinating their actions. Using a bonus action you can create a sphere aura within 30ft of you that adds your proficiency bonus to any creatures skill check, attack roll or saving throw to anyone within the aura you choose for 1 minute. This bonus is applied after all of the characters bonuses and multipliers. You can use this ability equal to your half your charisma modifier (min 1) before regaining all uses after a short or long rest.

Tier Three
Calculated Future - 10400 AXP

TIER THREE FEATURE: Calculated Future

    • AXP: 10400
    • Pre-Requisites: Inteligence of at least 14, or proficiency in the Wisdom (Insight) skill
    • Grants Access To: None

You have learned how to calculate the likelihood of what a creature might do next. You may, as an action, make a Intelligence (Investigation) check against a creature of your choice, the DC being their passive Charisma (Deception) (10 + Charisma (Deception) modifier). Upon a success, you gain insight into what that creature might do, but it is blurry. You can only see into the future for 1 minute, and it requires concentration. You may do this only once, being able to do so again after finishing a long rest.

For the next minute, the following applies: You have advantage on attack rolls against the target, and you have advantage on saving throws caused by them. The target has disadvantage on saving throws caused by you and on attack rolls against you. Examples of causing a saving throw include causing a cave-in and casting a spell that requires a saving throw.

You may use a bonus action to communicate this glimpse of probability, any one who hears is granted advantage on attack rolls against the target. However, if the target hears your calculated future, the effect is nulified for all creatures.

Additionally, you have learned how to calculate the likelihood of where any creature will be when you attack. You add half your Intelligence modifier rounded up to all attack rolls.

/*Calculated Future*/

Detect Thoughts - 5600 AXP

TIER THREE FEATURE: Detect Thoughts

    • AXP: 5600
    • Pre-Requisites: None
    • Grants Access To: None

While concentrating for up to one minute, you can analyze the microexpressions of a target human. Granting you access to their thoughts. When you use this feature and as your action on each turn until the effect ends, you can focus your mind on any one human that you can see within 30 feet of you. If the human you choose has an Intelligence of 3 or lower or doesn’t speak any language, they are unaffected.

You initially learn the surface thoughts of the human—what is most on its mind in that moment. As an action, you can either shift your attention to another human’s thoughts or attempt to probe deeper into the same target’s mind. If you probe deeper, the target must make a Charisma saving throw. If it fails, you gain insight into its reasoning (if any), its emotional state, and something that looms large in its mind (such as something it worries over, loves, or hates). If it succeeds, the effect ends.

Questions verbally directed at the target naturally shape the course of its thoughts, so this ability is particularly effective as part of an interrogation.

This feature may not be used on any non-human creature.

/*Detect Thoughts*/

Memory Reserve: Mimicry - 8400 AXP

TIER THREE FEATURE: Memory Reserve: Mimicry

    • AXP: 8400
    • Grants Access To: None

After using a mimicry feature you gain the ability to contain the mimicry in a memory reserve. When you do this the mimicry now becomes a permanent feature allowing you to use the ability whenever you like, however this still uses the same amount of mimic charges it would to copy the ability in the first place. Your access to this ability is represented by a number of memory reserves. Your tier and Intelligence determines the number of reserves you have, as shown in the Memory Reserve table. After using a mimicry that has been stored in a memory reserve they become locked and unable to use until you take a short or long rest. You may dismiss a mimicry from your memory reserve as a free action.

Psychic Firewall - 8400 AXP

TIER THREE FEATURE: Psychic Firewall

    • AXP: 8400
    • Grants Access To: None

By installing a series of protective measures to your concousness you become immune to mind-influencing conditions, poisoned, unconcious (unless reduced to 0 hit points), paralyzed, stunned. You become resistant to poison and necrotic damage and cannot be put to sleep or become infected by disease. You also gain proficiency in Constitution saving throws (nonstackable).

Effects caused by hacking, programming, or nanotechnology, and any effect that requires a Constitution save that also works on objects have a slight chance of still affecting you. For an effect as above mentioned roll a d% on a roll of 10 or lower the effect affects you as normal.
